Hello, I just heard that 4 SR's in a different division had their call home privilege revoked. The parents had to be in a horrible state, not getting that call. For what reasons would the RDC's do this? And will they get another chance to call home? It seems to punish the moms more than the SR's. I think not having info on what is going on has to be the worst for these parents desperately waiting for any communication. Anyone have any insight on this?

Wow. I can say that I never imagined that me asking these questions on here would get the responses it did. Because they are insensitive and frankly mean. Grow up? Not 10 year olds? It must be wonderful to be so smug and self righteous! I was concerned for my friend, and I asked some legitimate questions. She actually wasn't even questioning that what the RDC's were doing was correct, she was more upset that her son did something that caused him to lose his call, and I was hoping to help her get information about what could have caused it, and more importantly, could he earn it back. Instead, I got women saying that maybe they don't belong in the Navy. Way to offer support and comfort ladies! Did you even stop to consider my friends feelings before you wrote your answers? This is my first and last post on this website EVER, because if this is your idea of support, I will happily go without.
Buttercup, I ask you to reconsider as sometimes the opinions of a few can outweigh the good. The intent of this site is to support and I know that the admins of the site would agree with me whole heartedly. There are many moms, wives, daughters, etc that are here to support. Sometimes people forget that everyone reacts differently to situations. This site has been very helpful in keeping me sane since my first son went off to boot camp in November and they continue to share, support and uplift moms all over. I hope you will stay and see just how loving and support NFM really is!

May God continue to bless and keep you!

I did a little clean up here in this thread, it was taking a left turn at the right corner. :) Everyone here on this site should feel they can voice their concerns or questions. We try and hit all of the groups, discussions etc, in a timely fashion to weed out stuff, but sometimes we just don't get there fast enough.

Phone calls can be given, and phone calls can be taken away just as fast. There may/might/can be a reason they lose the privilege, there may/might/can be a reason they are taken away. It can be your own recruits fault, it might be the fault of someone else, the RDC just might be in a bad mood that day and working off some steam. LOL.

Some who have lost a phone privilege may have the opportunity to call again, some may not. Just keep your phones close. Look forward to a call at any time, but never expect one. The "No news is Good News" holds true.

Blessing!

In my son's div it was the same groups talking a lot when they are not supposed to be. Not working as a group, not following the rules. This is the military. Time to cut the cord. My now SA said he could never get used to getting in trouble for other People's screw ups. My other son is a combat medic deployed. When he's in the field, we may not hear from him for a week. Once your recruit gets on the bus, everything changes. We have to roll with it. Hang in there.
I'm sorry if I offended by saying cut the cord. That was harsh and this is a place of support. My son is 18, was a homebody and my baby boy. He had never been away for more than 5 days, but as an army mom, I learned fast that it is very strict and disciplined. With him being away, and not hearing from him and my 18 yo being a new sailor, I know how hard it is so I apologize for my rudeness. If your asking for a friend, that friend should join. I think we all realize some of the comments were harsh and that is not the norm.
