Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son leaves 9/26/2017
im so excited for my son to start his Navy Life. He is chomping at the bit to get outta here, but at the same time I want to just want to keep moving the date out. I guess the sooner he leaves the sooner I will see him at PIR. I'm already planning on painting the inside of my house to make the 8 weeks go by faster.

Seahawk. My son also leaves on 9/26. My older son had his PIR in July. He is in Pensacola now. Older one loves it and my younger one is excited to begin his Navy life also. Time will creep and fly at the same time. Creep especially when their PIR gets close. Good idea to have a project.

Hi Seahawk,
My son is also leaving 9/26. He's excited and ready to. I'm proud and ready for him to go but it's bittersweet. The closer the date gets, the more emotional I become. I don't have any projects planned during his time at bootcamp but will probably take a seasonal job (after not working for 5 years) to keep busy during this time for sanity's sake. -

Have you figured out what the potential graduation date is yet? I think I figured Thanksgiving week.....I'm curious what you've heard.

I heard the same - could be 11/22. I booked a hotel for that week just in case with it being a holiday weekend, wasn't sure how busy the hotels would be. Can cancel up to 11/19 so figured that was a safe bet.

jjckjj There is a lot of Hotels near base Sleep Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Red Roof Inn, Residence Inn, Days Inn, Red carpet Inn, you can also google it. but when you receive the form letter you will have a brochure enclosed with all that info.

By counting nine Fridays, PIR is most likely 11/22/2017 for those who ship on 09/26/2017. (That is Thanksgiving week, so PIR is on Wednesday.) It could be the week before if your the recruit is placed in a Push Division and is in one of the last divisions in the TG from the week before. It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.
