I rented this little mother in law cottage. It has two bedrooms and a private yard with BBQ. It was perfect, quiet and 9 min. to base. a straight shot to base. Owner really nice (John on here_ He wants you to book through the VBRO place, do a google search If you can't find it You could call him. but he would prefer not to be called unless you need him after you book it. I got in late, after 10pm and he waited there for me so I know where I was going and he gave me the key and showed me around. It was great. The pic I posted earlier today with my sleeping sailor was on the couch in the cottage.

Thanks...The Listing number is 429492 and thats on VRBO.com....Appreciate it...j

Just talked to Foster Creek.  They have one pet friendly, 3 bedroom villa for $99/night.  No weight limit on the pet!

You can't beat that!

I know!  The only issue is the availability since they only have the one unit.

Residence Inn by Marriott near Ashley Phosphate

Our Sailor graduated Friday from RTC and is now in GC for A School. We typically vacation in North Myrtle Beach, but are planning to try for somewhere closer to GC / Charleston this time around. Anyone have any ideas for somewhere to stay that's kind of closer to a beach but also as near as possible to GC? I'm looking at a map right now and don't even know where to begin.

VRBO (vacation rentals by owners)  found a great condo right on Isle of the Palms steps from the beach last visit, this trip for graduation we are staying in a condo located about 4 Miles from command.

Awesome information Co-Twin Sailors Mom!  I wrote it down and am going to go check it out!

Absolutely recommend this place!!!

Are there campgrounds near GC?  We have an RV and do a lot of vacations in that instead of hotels...

Marcia1976 - yes there are campgrounds - I believe they are near the Villas- here's the link:
