Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Carol, 55 to 100 is to be expected with 88 being the average number in a division since that is how many bunks are typically in a compartment. See Ship/Division--How it Works.

When my son entered RTC 6 years ago there were 80. Not sure if it has changed. He is on his 2nd enlistment so I am not sure if things have changed.

My son's graduation is posted for March 30th, unless something changes, and I've heard that's a possibility sometimes of happening. Div 142.

JakesALmama, if your recruit was prepared (mentally and physically, especially physically) when he went to the RTC, then he will have PIR as scheduled. If not, then yes, he could be ASMO'd and end up with a different PIR date. See Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT). Send him encouraging letters to let him know how proud you are of him and how much you are looking forward to seeing him in his dress blues for PIR on March 30 to celebrate his becoming a US Navy Sailor.
