I have just found out that my son's address is also ship 5.  I have found this out by a long string of phone calls inquiring information after finding out from his recruiter that he was in M1-James-A-Lovell and they had not yet had an address for him.  If a recruit is in Ship 5 does that mean that it is certain they are being separated?  I did not receive a call letting me know he was at M1-James-A-Lovell and only got the information I have now because I have spent an entire day and a half making phone calls and sending emails.  I also read some of the comments and am nervous because he was also on an IEP in elementary school.  In some states students who test as gifted are placed on an IEP in order to provide them with instruction that challenges them.  Is the Navy aware of this? Should I have gotten a phone call from my recruit by now?  The only call we got was the call letting us know he had arrived.

It is surprising that you have not received a call from him letting you know he has been ASMO'd to SEPS. Not having a call that he was at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center is not really a surprise because he may have been receiving an evaluation, in which case there was no need for a call, or he may have declined a call, which he can since he is an adult and under HIPAA has the right to determine who will be notified.

Any info regarding an IEP would have been shared by your recruit, so I doubt that is the cause for the separation.

I put info on SEPS on your My Page.

Thank you lemonelephant for the info.

You are very welcome.
