FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Casey when that happens turn up the volume on your phone sometimes that will fix it.

or have him look on the pay phone there may be a volume button have him look and he can raise the volume.

When that happens, have your recruit turn up the volume on the PAY PHONE. Sometimes people fiddle with the volume without realizing it as they are on the phone. See more on that and more in Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

If you receive a call from your recruit or new Sailor that you can barely hear, then ask him/her to look for the volume button feature on the pay phone and adjust it. This has worked for others and may help you to have a much better call.

My son left today was to fly out by 5 pm buy storm made him late I did get a txt he was in Chicago but how late will they call??

My call came after 11:00pm PT
My call came at about 9pm or after. Very quick call, and hard to hear.
Just keep the ringer up! :)
