For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Our November and December Sailors!!
We have a very special mission that we are going to ask all of our NavyforMoms.com members to support for the holidays.
Although the Adopt A Sailor program is only a few months old, as a group we have supported troops in Kuwait, Afganistan and Iraq. With the upcoming holiday season, we wanted to continue to support our sailors that we know won't be home with their families this year.
This group has grown so tremendous with almost 200 members and we had a goal in mind that would take alot of support. After much research and some emails inbetween, Molly and I are pleased to announce that our Sailor of the Month program for November and December will be...
The USS RODNEY M. DAVIS
This frigate will be home to about 250 sailors for the holidays.
Working thru their chain of command, we have received approval to support these sailors. This is an amazing opportunity and honor for us to be allowed to adopt this ship. This will be a big undertaking for our group but we know that Navy for Mom members know how to show the love!
Deployed ships often have limited mail deliveries so we have committed to having our mail delivered December 1 - December 8th. This will allow them to contain all of cards and holiday wishes together and deliver them to the crew before the holiday.
Our hope is for EVERY Sailor on that ship to receive a holiday card signed by Navy for Mom. We would like to include a $10 international phone card in the card so those Sailors may have an opportunity to call their loved ones. If you are not in a position to send a phone card, please do not let that stop you. Just write on the back of the envelope - no phone card included so as cards are distributed, some sailors don't get multiple phone cards and some get none.
So many of you have really stepped up the last few months and are spending $20 or more just shipping packages to our Adopt A Sailor receiptants. This will be an easier mission - no packages to send, no lines to stand in at the post office...just your holiday wishes with a regular postage stamp!!!
If you are a school teacher, Sunday School leader, Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop leader or part of any organization that would like to spread some holiday cheer to this group of Sailors, we would love to load them up with many holiday messages of support and cheer. Please think about using this a project for your group.

OMG - I decided to e-mail the guy that I ordered cards from (local photographer) & told him where his cards will be going & he called me like 15min later & is "donating" 250 cards and envelopes for me to send!!! He was thrilled that he could help out. He said he will have them ready for me to pick up tomorrow!!! I'm going to enlist the help of family to write in each & every card. This will free me up to be able to get some phone cards to go inside!

Well, I picked up my cards!!They are beautiful - will hopefully give those sailors something nice to look at for a while. The photographer & his family were soo happy to be able to do this for us & were thrilled that his photography cards were going to help in our effort. I gave some information to his young daughters about the USS Rodney Davis & they were excited about sharing with their class at school(who knows, they may also get involved in future projects)
I've started writing in the cards, but have a question....
as I am going to send mine in a APO/FPO flat rate box, what do I put on the outside of each envelope? Do I address it To: Any Sailor? or is there something else??

Hi Debra, glad you are enjoying the adoption project and I know the sailors will be delighted to see those cards.
Since you are sending your cards in a flat rate box - you could just write Any Sailor or Rodney Davis Sailor on the envelopes but it's a choice. The box will be addressed to the CMC and he is going to coordinator the delivery of all of the mail to our sailors. As long as the box is address as shown above, everything within that box will be distributed to our sailors. Thanks for supporting these sailors Debra! -

I told my son about this effort - he said "cool"! I can only hope that someday when he's out there that someone does the same for him - it gives me something to do & to feel connected while he's still in A school..

Okay, just to get this straight ... we mail on the 1st, or we have it mailed by the first? We will have 22 cards all signed and ready to go. I was thinking perhaps my students can make some homemade ornaments, you know, like the clothespin rudolphs, or the walnut snowman? Anyone have any other ideas?

Dianne, we just told the ship that we would be mailing everything from Dec. 1st - 8th so if you have those cards ready and can drop them in the mail on the first that would be perfect.
I love the homemade ornament idea - the sailors will really enjoy them. I still have one of those rudolph clothespins that my son made in first grade. It was a keeper! -
