OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi All,
Has any one heard /have experience with a recruit being in boot camp and so home sick that he was sent to medical? I am dealing with this now. Really want him to have the opportunity to return to boot camp. This is his dream. Surely being home sick is common...

Hi OceanBlue, I'm so sorry to hear this. When my Son was in BC he used to tell me they can hear many crying at night because they were missing home, he said he tried talking to some to let 5hem know it will be ok, my Son mentioned the the RDC would listen to hear who it was and I guess they write it down and then they get pulled, it can get to where they get very depressed. When they go in they have a sense of what it may be like and when they get there its totally different. They can be separated for that. See right now they are being tested for that, who will be able to handle the no commumication and if you can't then they tend to weed those out. I will be praying for you and for your loved one. I hope things get better, if you can talk with him/her pray over the phone with him/her. And let them know it gets better because it will just to stay focused and do what is needed and all will pass. Its really hard I know And im sure this will be on your mind constantly, but stay strong.
Dear Lord, I am asking you to please hear my Prayer, I need you Lord to please go to this young man's side Lord, to comfort him and let it be known Lord that you are right beside him in every way, shine your grace on him Lord. But most of all give him the strength and courage he needs to continue on. In your name I pray. Amen

This happened to my now sailor's best friend who went to boot camp about a year later than mine did. If they had gone in together, might have been different. As it was, he decided he was done with that dream and is on another path now. Mine extended, so it's still right for him. Best of luck to your recruit in whatever they decide is right for them.

Was he sent to medical for a short visit or are they having him stay there for a while? Did you simply get notified or did you get to talk to him? Did he at all seem hesitant before leaving? Stay strong. They will take good care of him. I did boot camp myself many many years ago. It is like no other and I remember struggling. I’m a mental health nurse practitioner my thought is that he is taking longer to adjust and probably sleep deprived and in a short amount of time he will regain his focus.

Thank you all for the comments and support. He has been at the hospital for a week that I know of. I was never notified. I received a short phone call several weeks ago from him saying he was homesick, maybe that was his opportunity to tell me but he didn't.
