just a general question. Let me start by saying that I have no idea what week my SR has completed but I believe he has completed week 3 and we don’t hear much from him so I can’t surmise anything. My question is- if a SR fails any aspect of any of his training will I be the first one on the outside to know? Last to know? Would I find out much after the fact? Are there various types of failures/not fit for duty/ASMO/SEPS etc etc. I’d love to hear various examples of unintended outcomes just so I am informed of possibilities. My SR said he was nervous about passing test/inspections and if he could just get through this week he would be happy. Thank you to anyone that would like to offer what they know.

Smooth sailing, I have the same question! Please someone answer!

Let me first say, if your recruits is failing something that is not to a point they will be SEP/asmo'd etc, you won't know about it unless they tell you. Your recruits are going to tell you they are worried about everything. Quite normal, and as it should be. Getting everything down to the details. That's what makes them Sailors. :)

Stop worrying about the what ifs, what might be, and I don't knows. It will make you crazy, give you tummy problems, and insomnia. :) If you aren't hearing anything from your recruit about being separated, asmo'd etc. deep breath, they are moving forward.

"No news is good news" really is the thing to live by when you have a recruit in BC. Remember, no phone call is better than the one you don't want to get. :)

Thank you ellen, that is exactly what I needed to hear. Its what I thought but I needed to hear it from someone that knows what they're talking about.  On weekends I'm not very busy so my mind gets the best of me.

You are welcome!

I get anxiety thinking about failing stuff too. I wish I knew every possible way that there is to fail so I could pray for each. But I also know my anxiety would be worse if I knew there were so many possibilities. I hate not knowing what he is doing or how he is doing. My SR has been gone since 10/9. I believe he will take his first pfa tomorrow.  Praying he does well.

Proudmama2 - my son left in 10/9 too and I feel the same way you do!  I think they took their PFA today also and am dying to know what happened!  I prayed for all of them today and hope each and every one did well and stayed healthy!

Now if that form letter would just hurry up and get here :)
