For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

PIR -notes
1. Do take the sarges short cut if you go to the meet & greet, he provides a short cut, the line is at least an hour long, i heard of families that missed the graduation due to that line, they got locked out.
2. Drop your sailor off after liberty by 7 pm. again there’s a line to get through the gates the line started to form and get long by 730. Two sailors in my sons division were late to check in due to that line.
3. Do get to the airport the morning your sailor is leaving to A school the uso makes it quite the experience.
4. The bluejacket manual cannot be checked into baggage with the airline on their seabags, they must carry it on, the sailors weren’t told this and many had them at the bottom of their seabags and had to empty it right there in the airport.
5. Do not take more than a few items your sailor can put into a backpack to take to A school they have to carry everything and those bags are huge. I saw parents taking suit cases... usps offers free boxes to ship out to military and i think the costs are low.

do you know where the Sailors get picked up after they move over to A school? What gate? and what gait do you drop them off at after liberty?

Smoothsailing, It will be all be posted in your PIR group in a couple days. There will be a map of TSC gates, and info for you about after PIR.

If you can plan to go to Sarge's Meet and Greet!! They will have the latest info on where to go to pick up Sailors staying in GL for A School. You may also want to go to the GL A school page since some of the info differs depending on if they stay in GL or ship out for A school training.
It is a good idea to write to your sailor or tell them in the I'm a Sailor Phone call Where and How you will meet (I'll stay in the Stands and you come to me or You stay as close to where you were in Formation and I'll find you! or We'll meet at.... (watch the videos and You'll have an idea!)) Even if they have to go deal with paperwork they are given a few minutes to communicate that to their loved ones in the stands they just need to keep it brief. They may not realize this so make sure you communicate it to them. Quick hugs and make a follow up plan then send them off. (Should not take more than 10 minutes total and they should be ok with the command. It's the same for Sailors staying in GL-- Quick hugs then muster for the move.) -

Sarge's Meet and Greet is held the night before graduation. There should be info on Your PIR group page on Here or on the FB PIR page. We couldn't get a flight that got us into town in time so I was unable to go to ours. It is a chance to connect with other parents in person. You can google it to get more information. Hopefully someone can point you to your groups page.
