Hi there!

Our son went to BC on 11/20. Not being able to talk with him has been so hard.  I think the holiday made it much worse. We have been writing him everyday so when we do get his mailing address and can send the letters he will know we thought of him everyday and are so proud of him. We're guessing the box will come sometime this week and hopefully his letter soon after.

Does anyone know how the holidays affect BC and PIR?  He will have 4 holidays while he is there. How about the winter storms. Do these delay training?  We live at the Grand Canyon and get snow every year, but GL will be a whole new world.

When they are able to make a call home in a few weeks will it be a certain time to expect it?  Like morning vs evening. I want to make sure we don't miss it.

TIA!

Rangermom--any box yet? Ours came Fed Ex. But maybe yours is taking longer bc you are farther from GL? I wonder if there is any chance they will have the same PIR date? Ive been posting daily on facebook to her wall and sending texts to her phone so she can read them later.

No box yet.  I know he didn't donate it since it had his new phone in it.  We did get a personal letter from him today and his mailing address!!!!  I sent a message to his recruiter to see what we should do about the box.

rangermom, I put info on your My Page that will help you to track down "the box."

You got your letter!!! Yay! Maybe mine will come soon. My daughter was just one day behind so hopefully it will be soon. What PIR date did you get?

Amy, My SR's PIR is 1/18. But still no official form letter. Just a letter from him.

KyMom Would you tell me when your SR went to BC?

He arrived at BC on 11/20/18.

We haven't gotten a form letter either.  His letter had his division and his PIR is also 1/18.  We sent him 3 letters today :)

What Div is he in? I sent out his birthday card this morning and sending 2 letters out this afternoon. Hopefully his birthday card gets there in time.

My son left 11/20 and I got the box but no form letter. I am at a loss as to why some receive these items so quickly and some of us are still waiting...

We got our Form letter this evening--ship 3/div. 079 but no personal letter or phone call.

I got the box on 11/26, my SR left on 11/20.  I got my first letter yesterday and it was dated 12/1.  It came along with the form letter.  I usually get my mail 4 days after it's been mailed in the lower 48.  With the earthquake, it's taking a few extra days apparently.  I got a phone call today as well!  What a surprise that was!  My SR is in Div 078 and he says they are all strong.  About 10 SR's have been held back due to medical but they should be fine according to him.  Most of them have colds and he sounded congested.  Running helps he says!
