I finally got a letter today from my son. How does sandbox work and will he a reply faster this way from me?

From RTC:
We do not endorse that app. (Sandboxx) The only thing we will state is that any letters sent via this app and other means of express/overnight mail aside from the USPS, will be returned to FedEx should a recruit get transferred to another division. Such letters do not get routed to the mail room to be redelivered as the mail room only handles letters sent via USPS.

While RTC does not endorse the app I don't think it means you cannot use it.  It's like the meet & greets.

RTC says "While there are such events that are held for families to meet one another, these are private events arranged by individuals not officially affiliated with RTC.  Thus, because they are not officially affiliated with us, we do not endorse nor promote their events on our pages.  If anyone wishes to share such information, please do so in a private message."

As for the Sandboxx app - it's not an official Navy app so they will not endorse or promote it. They aren't saying (as of now) that you can not use it.

And like belovedbyHim indicated (per RTC) - if the address changes in BC , letters sent via the Sandboxx app will not be redelivered - so make sure you have the right address!

UPDATE

Family & Friends of RTC,

As part of a reorganization, all divisions currently in training are in the process of relocating to new ships (barracks). The move began this past weekend, and recruits will be afforded the opportunity to call home and inform loved ones of their new address as they make the move to their new ship. This is ongoing, so the divisions calling home will be staggered, as they are not all moving at once. Mail sent via USPS to their old address will be forwarded to their new address. Any mail sent using other carriers, such as FedEx or UPS, might be returned if the package was not delivered prior to the move. There is no way we can say for certain with other carriers.

Due to privacy laws, we cannot provide a recruit's direct contact information. Please keep in mind the division your recruit was assigned to has not changed, only the ship they were housed in has. Therefore, if you know the new ship you can find the addresses here: https://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/faq.html and apply the division number.

The next time you recruit writes to you, please be mindful of the new address.

Lastly, this only applies to recruits currently in training. If you have a prospective recruit who has not left for basic training yet, this will not apply.

My sandboxx Letter officially got refused by the receiver

Momof2sailors - what division is he in?  I can tell you what ship he has moved to.

What a bummer. I loved  the app while our son was in BC. I hope this is all temporary.

Nic-ole' - it should be temporary - just while they are re-organizing the ships.  I have the information on which divisions moved to which ships.  Anyone who need to know just let me know.

oh really?? division 187

Division 187 has been moved to ship 6

Thats where I sent it

Well that is odd then.  The FB page just listed the new ships/divisions in the last 24 hours.  I wonder if they just haven't got everything caught up yet.  How long ago did you send it and when was it refused?

He sent me a letter on the 22nd with the address of shop 06 division 187. Then here is what happened
