My daughter told me before she left that they will remove her wisdom teeth at BC and then only 2 days recovery?? I didn't believe her at the time, thinking someone had given her misinformation. She was very bothered about the idea that this could happen, especially knowing everything else that would be going on while at BC that she would be dealing with. I only thought about it again after reading it on a Navy FB page and that this would probably be the week she would  have it done? Please tell me they wouldn't remove them if it's not necessary! Her last dental x rays showed that her wisdom teeth were there but were not causing her any problems and may never be an issue.

Then Semper Gumby it will be! LOL!

Unfortunately they are probably going to take them. My son had his out. He was fine. Try not to worry. If they take them she’ll be fine.

Mine kept his at BC than had them out while at his first duty station in Italy.  The dentist there was NOT happy about the fact they had been left in at BC.  My Son was bummed that he had to work while all his buddies got to lay in bed and sleep!  He was so tired at that point that he would have had them out just for the sleep.  He said it wasn't that big of a deal later though.  They give them pain meds and make sure they take them on a schedule.  I had mine out as an adult  when 2 had abscessed and other than getting a dry socket  it wasn't too bad.  Sore the day after then felt fine.  Dry socket happened 4 days after and once they packed it, other than having to go in every 2 days to have the packing changed it was NBD.  Either way I'm sure she'll do just fine.

She's never had anything more done than some stitches in her foot when she was a little girl, so she kinda freaked that it was a possibility. I think once she sees others having their's out and doing fine (and getting a couple days "off") she will be fine, too.  :-)

I was very worried about this same issue; my son did NOT have his removed.  His PIR was 12/14/18.  I was glad they were not removed.
