Thanks

This is my son's ship date as well. I am literally starting to feel a sort of panic set in...how are you doing? I feel so lost! This is my first experience with anything like this, and I read everything I can to help me feel better but I just worry so much. It's all so unknown. It's like I don't know what to do before he leaves. I want to just sit and stare at his face haha!

I have been staring at my boy as well. I think he is starting to get creeped out. He is ready to go and get started.

:)

Hi, my son leaves June 13 also.

where do you live? We’re in Fl.

We are in Alabama ... we are trying to fit in lots of family visits, etc.  Its overwhelming.  I can't believe we are HERE.  wow.

We are in Florida as well. In the panhandle.

My son is leaving from the recruiter's office today and will be arriving at boot camp tomorrow or Wednesday.  Would like to be connected with recruit families as well.

Welcome from Florida!!!

If you haven't already joined the Boot Camp group I would encourage you to do so. Once you have received the form letter you can join your recruits PIR date group.

There will be lots of answers for you in those groups, and your questions may get answered sooner in those groups.

Hi ladies - looks like you're all getting ready for your SR's to ship!   By this point I'm sure they are ready to go - be sure to join this group for boot camp moms.

Hang in there - keep your phones close by and be sure to come here for support!  You've got this ;-D

My son arrived at Boot Camp yesterday and I got "The Call".  He already sounds different.  I'm excited for him and have a sick feeling in my stomach at the same time.  God, I hope he's doing ok.

I understand there is a site for each camp that posts pictures, etc. Could someone guide me to how I can access the sight for my son's camp?

Many thanks to you all!

Andrea

Here's some info on sites that might have pictures (your best bet is on Facebook).  (We don't post any pictures from boot camp on here.):

Are there any official RTC sites?

Yes, check out https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommandand http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/. They will have lots of information for you. https://www.facebook.com/NavalServiceTraining also has items at times.

https://www.facebook.com/ASBPGreatLakes has pics of some of the recruits who give blood while at RTC. Those donations occur about 2 weeks (10 to 16 days depending on the division) before PIR.

You may also find pics in https://www.navy.mil/viewGallery.asp.

RTC will stream PIR live at http://navylive.dodlive.mil/ beginning at 8:45 am CST on the day of PIR for those who are unable to attend in person. (Once PIR has passed, you may be able to see the video athttps://www.dvidshub.net/tags/video/navy-boot-camp-graduation, but not all of them are included there.)
