I got a 20 seconds call for my son said he will send back to home due he failed on run test. He was on the second week of boot camp. I have a mixed feeling , sad because I don't know how he is feeling right now and happy because we really don't want he joined the navy. But we supported him. I never been agree with the life they have to live. Children's grown without father or mother. Missing all special family events. I always feel sad and proud for the military life due they left the real life on the side for our protection. I know very well my son , and I feel he felt in love for all promise to be a everyone hero. And I also know due he failed on fiscal test he have the choise if really want to reenlist. When he will be able to calling back again? Does he will received any psychological help in the process to send back to home. Why so many weeks ?He said he will send back to Meps station on Jacksonville. The recruiter said he didn't know nothing yet.

The Navy implemented new fitness standards as of 1/1/18 - see below:

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Sets New Physical Fitness Standard to Start Boot Camp. "The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes seven seconds for female recruits."

Unfortunately since your son did not pass his run he will be sent home.  It can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to even a couple of months.  They will try to get him home as quickly as possible but it just depends on how many are in SEPS.  He should be able to get a waiver and re-enlist in 6 months if he wants to.  He should also be allowed to call home again.  I don't believe he'll get any psych help as there really isn't any needed for not passing his run.  Although if there were some other issues he can tell them and they might make psych help available before he leaves.

I hope though that if this is something that your son truly wants and wants to try again for that you are able to be supportive of him and his decision.

Good luck to him.

My son is due to graduate this month soon I have not received a call saying he wont graduate on time. Should I expect him to graduate on time since its coming real soon

Rebecca, unless you receive a call on or by a week before PIR saying that he is not going to have PIR on time, then he IS expected to have PIR as scheduled. Plan to be at PIR as scheduled and hug him afterward in his dress whites.

See the info in Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training ... and Battle Stations-21 (BST).
