Good afternoon everyone,

my son is currently in his processing week at Boot Camp. Does anybody know how long it takes to find out where we can mail them letters during this coronavirus? He was in quarantine for 10 days and then started Boot Camp and we have not heard from him so I am not sure how long it takes. I know he is safe and doing well and I am so very proud of him.

Hi January - be sure to post your question in the boot camp group - I left the link in the welcome message on your page.  You'll find answers to most of your questions there!

Hang in there!

Welcome January,

It's good to have you here. Come on over to the boot camp group and introduce yourself. You will find a lot of information about boot camp and meet some wonderful ladies on there as well.

Hello Ladies, I haven't been on for a bit because I can't comment from my phone. I can see your emails but I cannot comment. I have missed you all. Welcome to all the new people! You are in the right place!

Chipmunk-glad you got to see your grandbaby! Partyofseven-glan things are going well for you! AntiM-good to see you on here, also belovedbyhim.

Phoenixmom-you have been a source of strength for me. I continue praying for you and your loved ones. God has your beloved Ben in his arms. He will continue to take care of you and the kids. Glad Bud was home!!

If anyone has any ideas on how to get my phone to behave, share your tips! Have a great afternoon friends.

January,

I noticed that no one has actually replied to your question and that is partially due to the fact that the general discussions don't always feed to everyone's email, and I know I did not see your comment.

Your SR (seaman recruit) should be doing 14 days in quarantine, I think, although I could be mistaken.  Some of the ladies have indicated that their SRs were able to do some of their preliminary testing during quarantine, so that is a possibility with your son. As for when the form letter will arrive with their address, it is not a set in stone time frame and for my son as I recall it was almost 2 weeks before I received it - Pre-COVID days. It seems some have received their letters around the 3 week mark from when their loved one left for BC.

Once you have the form letter and an address you may start mailing him the letters that you have been writing him. He is only allowed to write on Sundays and they send out that mail on Monday. Some recruits seem to have more time to write than others, so it is hard to know what your mail will look like. My son was able to make his "I'm still alive" phone call around 3 weeks and I think we have been hearing about the same currently. Just remember that "NO news is Good news.!"

As others have said, I would encourage you to join and post your questions and comments on the main BC Moms group.

Hey January,

Just checking in. Yes please come over to the bc group as I didn't see your comment either as Chipmunk was saying.  :) It's usually about the third week I believe but that also depends on their P-days and their initial physical testing. Once you get that form letter with his address then you will be able to mail them right away.

I know they were doing some kind of exercising while in quarantine. Be sure to post in the boot camp group. It really is a great group with a great group of ladies on there.  :)
