Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

HkyNvyMom - Congrats on you son moving on to A-school. It's been awhile since I've been on here because my son graduated back in January. I'll check in from time to time to help with any questions you may have. You will probably find you won't have as many as you did from boot camp because you will be able to talk and text with you sailor a lot now. Good luck to him and your family!

Hello all,

Checking to see if there are any others out there with kids just starting A school for MA.  My son just arrived at Lackland AFB.

C'sMom - NO graduation pictures or video from A School I am afraid when ours graduated Feb. 2021.

He did get the group pictures that was taken at A School in the mail so that was nice to see.  One was the formal one with everyone in masks & other was silly one with no masks...not sure why they didn't get a "more formal one without masks" but, yet could do a silly one without masks. But happy to get what he had anyhow.

He sent us a selfie with his badge but again in the dang mask...all I could think was he looks like he hasn't slept in a month the way his eyes were sunken in & his posture was pure exhaustion which made my heart break in 2...dh didn't see that until I pointed it out to him & then he was like yeah, WoW!

Our sailor reported to duty station in Florida.  Currently in ROM (1 week down today/tomorrow...not sure if he gets credit for flight day last week on Wednesday...it took him ALL damn day to get there as got stuck in airport in Dallas for most of the day poor guy).  So he got in close to midnight to the base in Florida...& they were not prepared to put him in room so it was a big shambles for him & his poor sponsor that sat at airport waiting for him through all the delays.

Congratulations on your sailor's graduation & best wishes on getting on with the police department.  Thank him for serving in both fields for us too. BNMH

C'sMom - Graduation is exciting news and that you will see him very soon is fantastic. As for video, there isn't any or at least wasn't when my son graduated. Yes, civilian police officers seem to have it pretty rough these days but hopefully things get better for them soon! He was able to have someone take a picture for us with a certificate and wearing his badge. He is currently in the Pacific Northwest and should be the for the first 3 years of his contract.

Vintagemom, kim, and kim's husband Troy:  I haven't been on here in forever.  Doesn't look like many others have either.  Lol.  Our son is graduating this coming Friday.  Is there a recording of the graduation anywhere like there was for boot camp?  How are your sons doing?  Where are they again?  Our son is reserves, so he will be coming home sometime in a little over a week, I'm assuming.  He then has to report to his NOSC, which is only just under 2 hours away.  So that is where he will be reporting for his reserve duty every month and the two weeks.  He has also started applying for police officer positions.  So I really don't know what life will be like for him when he gets home.  I now feel like I need a support group for police officer moms!  Lol!

C'sMom - So good he was finally able to start! Seems so long ago that BC ended so it's about time they get them started. I hope everything works the way he wants with his career! My son is still on track to graduate on 2/4 and then starts at his PDS on 2/17. I get the feeling that he is ready to move on from Texas and get to the West coast and be out of school lol

Update on my son!  He's finally starting class today!  And it sounds like he has been diligently working on his resume the last few days.  He keeps sending it to his sister for her input.  I'm hoping he can have some interviews lined up when he comes home from A school In March!  Then that'll be a whole other road to travel for this momma!  Really hoping he doesn't get in a high crime area!

How are your sailors doing?

Vintagemom and kim:  That's great news--staying stateside!

Vintagemom:  Try not to get so caught up in details that you can't enjoy the wedding.  When is it again?  And congratulations on a future DIL!

Update on my son told us a week or so ago that he was told he would start class January 27 and graduate March 19, unless he got bumped.  A couple days ago, he found out he will start next week!  Yay!  By my calculations, I believe he would graduate the first week of March then.
