For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Blue Candles
I cycled through a few different ideas and ended up with this lantern with a blue 'flameless' candle that I got on Amazon (they are not easy to find!), thanks to one of the ladies that posted it here a couple months back. I bundled all of the letters I got from SR and his GF during their time in bootcamp and put them in there. I plan to use it as sort of a shadow box for other things from his time in the Navy as well. I have a photo of SR and his GF next to it and on the other side is the Blue Candle Poem.

So sorry I missed that you had already posted!!! I am having all kinds of issues posting today! I also did a lantern but used Faery Lights because either couldn't find a blue candle anywhere!

My blue light is on a timer and it comes on about 2 in the afternoon when I get home and goes off about 8. When I notice it I stop what I am doing and say a little prayer for him. I also made a actual candle because my battery went dead and I knew he needed prayers for a specific thing and I couldn't get to the store to buy batteries.

I have it on every night even though it has been almost a year since he left for BC. :) it is actually very comforting

He left here July 29th. Swore in July 30th. Went through PIR September 25th. Then onto A School. Graduated there December 5th. Then came home for a 10 day leave before joining the fleet. He is currently out in the Atlantic somewhere. It has been a lot of emotional Rollercoaster rides. But once he went to A School, I have been able to talk to him most days. Even if it is just a quick text message. When he is out, I got a few days without hearing anything but he emails when he can.
