Welcome again Denise! You've definitely come to the right place for info and support. The boot camp group has lots of good info to get you through the next 8-10 (or so) weeks. Keep your phone handy and answer all calls you might get - you never know when it might be your SR. Start writing letters now so as soon as you get his address you can mail them all out (# them in the corner so he knows what order to open them).
Thank you so much! I am already so grateful for this group! This is so helpful!
Welcome to the BC Mom group. More of the members are actually likely to see your posts if you scroll down and post in the Comment Wall area of the BC Mom group page. You should start receiving email feeds if you are following the group and not everyone sees the discussions, depending on what format they are viewing this site, either with a computer or a mobile device.
I am glad you have joined the group. We have a few sayings around here - "No news is good news!" "Semper Gumby" / Always Flexible, and "It may not get easier, but we get stronger!" It will be approximately 3 -4 weeks before you receive the form letter depending on what your son's restrictions of movement (quarantine) and processing days look like. So in the meantime, write positive and encouraging letters. Number them and have them ready to mail when you receive his address. Once you know his mailing address then you will be able to also join the PIR group for the month that he has PIR.
As of currently, graduation, PIR (Pass in Review) is open to two guests per sailor. You will have to be 2 weeks out from your 2nd Covid shot, I believe and show proof of your vaccination as well as wear a mask the entire time on RTC. Other information is available on the main BC Mom group page and we are always answering questions in the Comment wall area, but this will get you started.
Thank you for the information. I couldn't figure out where/how to post and this was the first option I saw. I appreciate your kindness and patience with me as I try to navigate this site! :-)
Thank you, too, for the sayings and the info regarding letters. Y'all are so helpful!!! <3
You are fine! I actually did the same thing when I first joined this site and the BC Mom group. It can be a little difficult navigating this site. If you are using a mobile device, be sure to put it in desktop mode. Otherwise, I prefer to use my computer when I am replying on this site.
MomofJoseph-- Welcome. I'll leave some information on your page. I see that Chipmunk has already helped you find your way to the main BC moms page. That will be the best place to get answers and support.
Hi Denise,
Hang in there! My daughter will be at BC two weeks today and they've been the longest two weeks ever, but this group of ladies has really helped me along. Writing to her every night really helped also. We actually just received her form letter today with her address so I was able to finally mail all the letters we've written.
We are all here for you. I find that commenting in the main BC discussions is very helpful since there are more moms there who can answer any questions you have.
