Be sure to join the November PIR group - here's the link:

 PIR NOVEMBER 2021

Please join your PIR group.  You will find more moms there. PIR NOVEMBER 2021
You may also want to post on the main comment thread since more of our members follow that page than see the new threads.  Welcome to Bootcamp.  I will be posting some information on your page shortly.  We are here for you and you are not alone!

gio0525 - We are glad you found us. Welcome to the BC Mom and Loved ones group. I see some of the others have encouraged you to join the PIR group for November. That group is closed / not publicly visible like the BC Mom group and you also have to be "accepted" when you ask to join the group so it may take a day or so.

Stick around, post down in the comment section on the main group page, underneath the discussions. The comment wall area is where we have our daily chatter, some days everyone is more talkative than others but if you post questions or share your feelings, someone is sure to reply. We all volunteer our time on this site so post as we are able.

One thing with the Nov 24th PIR, if your loved one is staying in GL for A school there is a likelihood of getting to have more time with them.

Please be aware that there are some requirements to attend PIR,

Masks are mandatory inside at RTC (I think once you are outside it is okay to remove but I would verify that with others who have attended recently.)

You must be 14 days post your 2nd COVID vaccination with proof of your 2 vaccinations in order to pick up a ticket to attend graduation. You must have your vaccination card and State ID with you. When you receive your SRs form letter (which if you have a div & PIR date, I am assuming you have yours) there should have been a security form for you to fill out the name of two guests and return that to your SR ASAP!! If you don't have the security form we can get you the link to a copy that you may print and return.

Welcome Aboard!

I just posted some information for you on your page.  If you need more help or still have questions feel free to reach out or post on the main BC page and we'll be here for you.

Hi Gigi.  I have a daughter graduating on 11/24.  Please join the November PIR Group using the link B'sNukeMom gave you.

:)

I have another concern. I have sent letters to my son through Sandboxx and it states it was delivered but when I read the reviews, there is a lot of people saying their loved ones never got those letters. I have also mailed letters out just in case but obviously those take longer to arrive. Any suggestions?

You will have to ask him either in a regular letter or in a phone call if he has received the Sandboxx letters.  It is recommended that Sandboxx be used ONLY WHILE IN BOOTCAMP and not after.

Here's some info I have posted on the app - click on the link:

Sandboxx app while in BC

gio0525-- Sandboxx letters are delivered to Great Lakes not to the Sailor.  Letters delivered before the Div has trained their Mail PO get set aside and sorted later if there is time, if at all.  This is one of the reasons we say to wait till you get the form letter and to use regular mail.  Your SR will be the ONLY one who can answer if they got that letter or not and of course you won't know till they write and tell you or call.  Do NOT use sandboxx after bootcamp for ANY reason!!!!

My son called and confirmed he has received all the letters through Sandboxx. Thank u Jesus

gio0525 -- That's a comfort.
