Hello...anyone...

I'm looking for more information on class/school processes. I've read the information on this site and it's been great, but I'm stuck after BESS. My Son completed BESS and is doing TCNO but won't share any info... he keeps reminding me he signed a NDR. I can't get an address to send him anything and I know he is going to be in CT for another 14-28 weeks. I went to visit him in August (the week of his 21st birthday) and spent a day with him, shopping and eating. I was scouting for a family trip to visit him with all his siblings, but my other son left for the AF this month... so I'm just on here trying to figure out a possible timeline of events and visits to the two boys. I'll keep trying and researching.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this group & to the Navy.  My son is in his 3rd week of BC.  When graduated his field will be SECF.  That is about all I know right now.  Thank you for the add!!

Hi everyone,

I joined the group today.  My sailor son is now in Groton for BESS and has a "radioman" or ET rating.  He says A school will be 28 weeks once he completes BESS at the beginning of February.

Best of luck to your son, Gloria in his new career after he completes his Engineering Degree.  Thank him for his 8 years of Service.  I’m sure looking back now, it probably went by really fast!

Hi everyone. I haven't been on here for a long while. I hope all on my group are doing well and enjoy telling stories or question on their sailors. My son is no longer serving. We are so proud of the 8 years he did. Now he is in college getting a degree in Electrical Engineering. We will always be a Navy family. To all who are serving our great Nation....FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS

CM: Nice! My fiancée likes to take up sonar for specialization too.

Comment by CM on July 17, 2018 at 11:33pm

You're welcome! He thinks his orders are for sonar.

Oh, I see. Thanks! What specialization is your son planning to take, by the way?

Comment by CM on July 17, 2018 at 11:10pm

Hazel, no way to know. Sometimes they have to wait .....sometimes start right away. :)

Thanks for replying, CM 2. Im glad someone is still active in this group. I just have a question. After BESS, are they given a break before starting A school?
