My son, my baby has been in for 4yrs now. He's now stationed in pearl harbor. He was supposed to come home at Christmas but that's not going to happen. I sometimes feel like I'm one of the few that has a child that's been out of school for a long time. I was a young single mom with him and I have been there with him every step of the way. I'm happy to talk to new Nuke moms but I want to also talk to the moms of kids that are 4yrs or more into it. I have a lot experience for the new moms and would love to hear from moms that are yrs into it.

Hi Bern! My son will be in for four years in January! He is stationed in Washington State. He just came home for Thanksgiving, but we will not see him for Christmas. Happy to chat with you!

Hammer

The Hammer - Hi!! I am so glad that your son was able to come home for Thanksgiving! I am sorry he doesn't have the option for Christmas. I hope he is able to do some sightseeing during his liberty. WA is such a beautiful state, we loved to visit places when we lived there.

 Hi Bern,

It is good to hear from you. My son has been in for 4+ years as well. Please feel free to come post your comments down in the Comment wall chat area where more of the members might see your posts. Not everyone follows the discussions. Feel free to send me a friend request, I am willing to chat as well.

Bern - glad to hear that your son is doing well and hopefully he's enjoying Hawaii.  I'm sorry he won't be able to make it home for Christmas though.

If anyone wants to reach out to you they can also DM you and you can talk privately.

Thanks for being here for the other moms!

Hi Bern! My son has been in 6 years and just got back from (hopefully) his last deployment! Homecoming is officially tomorrow and we are headed to Bremerton (arrived in Seattle Saturday night and are on the ferry now) for homecoming and a Christmas with both of our kids. We’ve only had 3 Christmases with our Sailor since he joined (counting this one). Hopefully you will get to connect and see him soon.

Merry Christmas Bern! And to all! My Son, my Baby, has been in for over 5 years.( 5 years and 13 days!) He was not able to come home for Christmas this year either :'(  He actually has 'Duty Day' today. His first Duty Station was Pearl Harbor! 2018 to 2020. He is now in Portsmouth, NH. He likes it better in NH. Hawaii was too many people, too crowded highways. My husband and I were lucky and blessed to have been able to visit him twice while he was there in Pearl Harbor. Once when he re-enlisted and once when he returned from deployment! And we were blessed to be able to spend a month with him in Portsmouth this past Spring!! He has his days, some days he says that he will stay in until he makes Chief and other days he counts down how many days left. It's definitely a 'Roller Coaster Ride' for them and us!!  BNMHS and again . . . Merry Christmas!
