Address to send letters

Hi fellow families. How long will it take for me to get my daughters address once she is settled ? She arrived at GL on 8/24/22. Thank you !

Good Evening Liz - First of all welcome to the N4M website. We have a lot of groups on this site, and you are more likely to get replies to your questions if you post in our Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com) BC Moms and Loved Ones group. I encourage you to join the group. When you do, scroll down past all of the information (go back and read it, a little bit at a time, including the pages in the right side of the group page.)  Then scroll down past the discussions posted there and post your questions in the Comment Wall on that group page. This is where we carry on our daily chatter, post questions, answer them, and where our members share how they are doing with the emotional roller coaster ride of BC. 

To actually answer your question. It is likely that your form letter (just a typed information letter where the only thing your SR (seaman recruit) is to fill out is their address, no other notes) will arrive in about 3 weeks or so. It should also have a security access form. This is when you will receive your address. In the unlikely case that your daughter should call you before then, ask her for her Ship # / (or name) &  Division #. With that information, then we can locate her address for you, or check out this information, which is one of the pages posted on the BC Mom group page. Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recru...

I hope this helps. Go ahead and start writing letters now and then when you get her address you may mail them off.

Also, if you have a daughter - Moms of Daughters 2 - Navy For Moms (ning.com) This group is not as responsive as the BC Mom group, so I would ask current questions in the the BC Mom group and then other general questions in the Mom of Daughters 2 group, or the one that I shared with you.

Hi Liz.  Welcome!!  I like that your sailor can time travel! (Kidding)  But Going off what you wrote here is the time line you are looking at.  It's also in the information I left for you on your page.

Day 0 (Wed Aug 24) -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call

Week 1 Day 1-7 (Aug 25-31) -- Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)

Day 8 (Sept 1) -- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later.(Remember you have a Holiday in there too!! The 6th will be a P-hold day as well which will shift the "Start" of the week by 1 day)  This will be Training Week 1 Day 1 (T1D1)
Week 2 -- First week of Training including PT and Swim Qualifications
Week 3 -- Marlin Spike - (Line handling- How to tie up a Ship to the Pier) , First inspections and tests (Dental May be this week or next... Not Confirmed)(Form letter/ Personal letters usually arrive this week)

Week 4 -- Confidence Chamber & Fire Fighting training
Week 5 -- Fire Arms Training    

Week 6 -7 -- More training, Drilling (Flags and Marching).

Week 8 – Battle Stations (done prior to final PFA). Your SR will call home to say they are a Sailor (They do not always call to say they are a Sailor but that's our name for that phone call.  They have Officially completed Basic Training but they still have to pass final PFA in order to graduate.)

Week 9 & 10– Warrior Training (Life skills) and Final PFA
