Johanna,
I am very sorry to hear this. I wish I knew how to help you more. Are you on Facebook? There may be more options there for ways to stay connected.
That's a really tough one. our son has been in the Navy now for 5 years. He's going on deployment again on Monday. He now has a live in girl friend and we hear from him less often, so I can relate. This son is my youngest of 5 and We have had strained relationships at one time or another with all of them but they come around. They're figuring out their independence and don't realize how hard it is for us to let go. I know this doesn't help you now. Prayers for reconciliation and peace.
Johanna -- You can stalk the RTC Facebook page and post on the Bootcamp Moms page. But neither site will give you SPECIFIC information about your sailor. That HAS to come from him or whomever he chooses to tell. You can try and reach out to HER parents and see if they will advocate for you from a parental viewpoint but unless he makes the effort to change the relationship there honestly isn't any "backdoor" source for information. He's an adult and you are NOT his Next of Kin in the eyes of the Navy. I am NOT trying to be harsh or cause you more pain, but I do not want you to get your hopes up that there may be another way to resolve this. Keep reaching out, Keep the lines of communication open, Try for reconciliation. I am so sorry that you are going through this too. My oldest has chosen to go low contact with us because she chose to reject our values and believe lies. It Hurts so deeply but there is nothing I can do to force her to see us or spend time with us. We just keep being ourselves and let her know that she is welcome to come over any time.
It's not easy being a parent when a huge part of your heart gets to leave you and make their own choices.
I am so sorry that you are going through this!!
