For those that have sailors that continue on to C school, I just started a new group called...

C School Sailors

Please stop by and tell us where your sailor is heading or if they have already gone thru a C school, what their experience has been.

Maybe worth just throwing the direct link in? :) CC
Yes, that would help us find it. Thanks for starting one!
I am glad you started this group. Chad is to finhish GM A School 12/5, which is his 20th B'day., & will be coming home for a few days. He is to report to Dam Neck, VA 12/18 for C School. His classes does not start until 2/17 for Vertical Launch System (VLS) I would love to hear from others that have Sailors in C School at Dam Neck &/or in VLS.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Sandra, my son is at Dam Neck. His A and C school are there. He starts C school next week. They were trying to hurry up and get it started or they would have to wait until Feb. He is IS.
My son is currently in Biloxi Mississippi for his C school. He is an AT. He went to A school in Pensacola Florida. Right now he is feeling a bit left out of the action. Most of his friends from Boot Camp and A school are already on ships and have been on crusies. He has been assigned to the John C. Stennis after his C school. (sometime in March) He is enjoying Biloxi, according to him anything would be better than Pensacola. We took his truck to him last month so he is basically going to school 7 hours a day, has pt a few times a week and has duty every 8 days. Other than that his time is his own. Anyone else have someone in Biloxi?
Does Anyone know if there is a C school for aviation mechanics? My son is waiting in Pensacola for A school, but says that he has been told it is only 38 days long...I am hoping they get more advanced training than that if they are being charged with the safety of those aircrews...38 days just doesn't seem long enough!
what is it that they do in C school? i keep hearing parents talk about this but i haven't got a clue.? can someone please tell me what i should be expecting? i haven't got to talk to him lately about this so any information can and will be helpful.
Cindy, the way I describe it is this: Think about doctors. They all go to med school (A School). After A school, some specialize, peds, OB, cardio, etc. Think of this as C school. My son is IS. He finished A school, but now he is specializing in a certain type of intelligence.
Michelle, many of the rates are OJT. They learn the basics at school, then learn the hands on in the field under those who do it every day.
Great explaination Dawn! Cindy, do you know what rate your son is? Some rates need the extra schooling, while other rates can do alot of training with the fleet and may get additionally school later in their career.
My son is on his last week(hopefully) of A school for IS. He is a Reservist and will be continuing on to C school for OPINTEL. Thought I would check around to see if there was a group for C school moms. And here it is, but I cannot find the link to join.
