My son just switched jobs to be a MAA. Tell me something about it. He is in Virginia Beach for A-school. Should I go to that graduation? Expense is a problem for me. Driving is really not an option and air fare is so high.

My son is not in maa but I have a son in the Air Force that is doing the same job he is in San Antonio right now doing k-9 training. The base is really nice make sure to tell them to visit the riverwalk in while they are there it is beautiful. My son did his A-School in tx as well then he did 2 tours in iraq. good luck to everyone.
yes all branches of the military and the allies train at Lackland Air Force Base. Even many years ago Saddam Hussein trained there as a young man. I am told that theirs a picture on a wall somewhere on base.
I thought I would look that up. But I cant find anything to support the Saddam thing. I'll keep looking.... maybe I have the wrong dictator.Hmmm
Here's one. Thanks to my husband (Jerry) :)

General Georges Hormiz Sada (aka Gewargis or George Hormis; Arabic: كوركيس هرمز ساده, Syriac: ܓܘܪܓܝܣ ܗܪܡܙ ܣܕܐ; born 1939?) is an Iraqi of Assyrian descent, an author and retired general officer of the Iraqi Air Force.

Sada was born to an Assyrian family (see his account) in Northern Iraq, that belonged to the Chaldean Catholic Church before becoming a 'born-again' Christian. In 1959 he graduated from the Iraqi Air Academy, and over the following years served as an Air Force Officer, including stints studying overseas in Britain, the USSR and the United States. Through 1964-1965 he was a student at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
Then do you know why Derek would be sent to train in Virginia Beach for MA school? He just passed the CO or OC test (where they spray them in they eyes). OH - my poor baby
Virgina Beach yes. Before James even left for GL his recruiter told him he would be sent to either place. The OC spray I have pitures of that. Just wait till the tear gas chamber....... :) James group did well tho.
My son is going to MA school in San Antonio after graduating on the 18th of April.
That is what Derek thought too. I left Great Lakes on Monday evening thinking I would see him in a few weeks in San Antonio (I live near there). Wednesday, I get a phone call from him and he is at the airport headed for Virginia Beach. Don't believe it is so - until it is so!!!
Let me know if your son does get to San Antonia. I live about 4 hours from there, but am willing to do whatever I can for anyone serving our country.
Heck I cant remember who I've talked to on here and who I havent but my son is not far behind yours Sherry..He will graduate 4/25 and is scheduled to go to San Antonio too...Im not sure which area...whether its K9 or whatever...he did mention K9 at one time...who knows... Maybe they will meet then huh?? take care...
Yes this site has grown so fast I can't keep up.Sun
Hi, My son is also going to MA school in San AntonioTx He grad from BC Apr 18th but last I heard they might have to wait for another school to open as my son told my he was supposed to grad from MA school June 19th. Hope that he gets into that class.
I just talked to my son at 4:00 taday now he says he's going to have full liberty not grad and go, thenis stuck at GL for two weeks then off to A school in Texas but now he is going to South Carolina with the Marines for combat training, who decides that??? We get two weeks with him after A school but I wonder why he said some like MAA LIM (I think or LI something) what in the world is that all about anybody know??? Anyhow he sounded great but now I'm worried about this combat training with the marines (didn't tell him that though).
