Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC, if you don't call my sailor an ET!!! :-D

My Sailor is an FC, named Nick and he is currently in C school @ Dahlgren

Dam Neck is a very nice place. My son went on a field trip to that base Thursday to look at some of the radar equipment. It has a great beach that I used to take the kids to when they were little.
It's been alot of years since hubby went to school in DamnNeck but I remember the base being smaller and the beach was not far down the road. One this for sure.....the weather will be nicer than GL! How long is his school Karyn?
I got to meet two FCs that were reporting to their new ship in Norfolk last week and hope that they will be joining us soon.

One was Aegis Spy Radar and the other was CIWS (went to school in DamnNeck) - could have adopted them both but that Aegis sailor was very sharp in particular. Had done 4 years of college and just applied for the STA 21 program. I think he has a very promising future ahead in the Navy.
I didn't know there were CIWS in Damneck, VA. also. Patrick has now gone to the beach in San Diego and posted the pictures on FB.
There is CIWS in NamnNeck, Nick said he thinks the class is the same length it's just a matter of what school has an opening at the time.

I bet Patrick is enjoying SD much more than he would DamnNeck, Virginia Beach is pretty but it's not ...SanDiego!
My daughter is Kelly, currently in Indoc at Great Lakes and then A-School for FC
How long is it by the way. She said she's there for about 8 mos!
Normally I would say 5 to 8 months but so much is up in the air right now with the "holds" - it just really depends on when she can start classes. Eight months is realistic - once she actually starts class.
Hi Francine, my son just finished FC in GL. It took him 9 months. He said he was the slowest ever....LOL At least he made it through. He will be going to Dam neck for C school in June.
Is he coming home first?
Hi all, my son Ian is currently in his first half of ATT. He has lingo'd me complete confusion but at least we can try and figure it all out here. I will have to ask him again what system he wants to learn. He is doing really well and has done some volunteering for his section. First as duty master, and now as assistant section leader. He says it just means the guys have to listen to him and he organizes. He told me that other than school, things there are pretty nice. He didn't enjoy the winter. We are from the Seattle area and snow is a rarity. I am hoping that he gets C school in San Diego. At least the flights home will be cheaper. He has such focus and wants to do the whole Navy career. I couldn't be prouder. My dad did a 6 year stint in the Navy and he is such the proud grandpa. I was wondering if any of your sailors were stationed in the Porter right now? Ian has become the master griller and has cookouts most weekends now. I would be interested to find out if our sailors all know each other.
Wow, there are a lot of sites for FC..I hope you guys know more about what your sons do than I do. My son completed C school at Dam Neck and is on the USS Donald Cook. Most of you know that already. I was truly hoping to learn more about what an FC does. Jackie's son and my son are on the ship and that's all I know..
Hello all, I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to jump in! My husband Danny is an FC at GL he classed up to SCC last Thursday. He was in a group that helped build shelves for the NEX while on hold for SCC. Does anyone else have a sailor in this group?? After A school he's hoping for CIWS in Dam Neck.

Julie
