My son just switched jobs to be a MAA. Tell me something about it. He is in Virginia Beach for A-school. Should I go to that graduation? Expense is a problem for me. Driving is really not an option and air fare is so high.

Fleet Marine Force (FMF). Everything I google comes back that has to do with Corpsmen, combat and warfare But maybe this will help. http://www.combatindex.com/mil_docs/pdf/opnav/1400/1414-4.pdf
Lost my internet for a moment:( Possibly security for any where they set up shop for a hospital or other medical help.
HI Brenda, First let me tell you I was not able to attend my sons Aschool because we had gone to the graduation at gl, and with the economy we just couldnt attend. My son did say only people who lived close by attended, because alot of the other guys familys had just gone to gl too. They usually are allowed to come home after aschool and this is were we choose to to fly him home instead and he could see family and friends. I was so happy for him he did very well in Aschool helping others and was 2sd in his class, this comes from someone who at times had difficult in school see what you accomplish when you really want it. Master at arms is in laymen term military police and and then they can go into different directions with it. He really likes his job and the navy. I wish your son success and happiness....I will ask about the fmf stands for. Have a nice day Marie
Thanks so much, you are a big help to me!!
Hello MAA Moms - Does anyone have a daughter who has chosen MAA? My daughter is signed up to leave for boot camp 7/23 and will (??) go to TX for her A school. The information shared here is great and I know I will have many questions for everyone once she actually leaves.
Hi, Didn't know you guys were here, Wow, what a great idea, feel like I am home! My son is in GL but I never wanted to wait for anything, Ha Ha
Brenda,HI!! What a treat to meet you again, My Lady Morale Officer, how are you? Can't wait to get to know everyone, we'll be in touch
Does anyone know where the MA's are being sent after A school?
Hi Leta - I have heard a variety of places!!
I won't believe that Derek is there until - - - he is there!!!
(I am NOT saying the Navy lies - just plans change!!)
The places that I hear the most about are pretty safe:
Bahrain (where Melissa's son is)
Kuwait (where Derek may be going)
Guam (where Derek was assigned)
or just various bases around the good Ole USA!!
But like I said - plans change - don't believe it until it happens!!
Talk at ya later!!
Brenda
It all depends on what places have openings and when. When James was in "A" school the place alot were going was Greece,Japan and few Cuba, Bahrain.
Hi Leta My son is going to Washington State for 2 years after MA school he graduates in 2 weeks then comes home before going there.
