OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

From Molly: Hey Moms ---- we are having some wounded guys coming our way. Would you like to make a thread and those who would like to send a card or messages to our wounded ones.
If you know of someone in the military "hurting" and needing a "special hug" - PM me (Brenda Sue) the address and I'll post it in our "special place." I do ask that you keep us updated on the condition or change of address of anyone that has a lingering need.

The VA hospital in Seattle where Ross is at is huge. He is in the spinal cord injury recovery portion, I'm sure there are a lot of different recovery sections too.

Just kidding - I'm not sure - Molly and others are "perfecting" some labels - and then we will figure out how to get them on here where everyone can print them.

I've been playing with my Cricut Expression and the new Stand and Salute cartridge. I made a couple cards tonight and I'm trying to figure out how to make a label too. This cartridge has boats, waves, sailor's hats, all the military and patriotic stuff! -

The services for Darren Tate were yesterday. Due to having to take hubby back to eye specialist out of town that rebuilt his eye due to accident, I will not be sending the cards recieved from MAS until next Monday. Below is the link to the article in the local newspaper. I must warn you in advance that at the bottom of the article, people can leave comments. There is one that you may find upsetting. If you can, please just either don't read it, ignore it, or find it in your heart to pray for the person. I have found that one of the negative side effects of the internet is that there are some people who think they can say anything because no one knows who they are. For me, I choose to pray for the person and turn my focus back on what is important -- Darren's family.

We had 1 of our recruiters pass away Thursday and they gathered all the DEPS last night and told them. OUCH OUCH today is the service myself & my DEP will be attending. Keep his family in your prayers.
His name was Travis ----- a moment of silence in his memory Please :)

Wow, that's a lot for the deppers to handle before they even get sworn in and boot camp under their belt. I knew 4 of the recruiters at the local office where my boys joined, wonderful people. I'll be happy to make a special card!!

Nicholas A. Corbett
(February 9, 1989 - July 20, 2009)
Nicholas A. Corbett, age 20, of Orrville, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
He was born on February 9, 1989, in Wooster, to David and Joni (Collins) Corbett, and graduated from Orrville High School, Class of 2007. He recently completed training with the U.S. Navy and was to be deployed this month to serve on the USS Hopper in Pearl Harbor, HI.
Nick will be remembered as a kind and sweet son who loved music, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and especially his family.
Surviving are his parents, Dave and Joni Corbett of Orrville; a brother, Matthew D. Corbett of Orrville; maternal grandmother, Connie Collins of Orrville; paternal grandmothers, Mary Bunt of Akron, and Nancy Corbett of Orrville; paternal grandfather, Jim (Lavinia) Corbett of Orrville; a nephew, Brody Matthew Corbett of Orrville; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles W. Collins; and paternal step-grandfather, James Bunt.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 6-8 PM, at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home's web site at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009, at 10 AM, with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where military rites will be observed.
