We would like to think about a get together with all of the great moms in Georgia and will be looking at locations and dates. Would you list your name and city so we can start tracking where all the moms live and can make some plans from there. Thanks!

Welcome Lisa - always nice to meet new GA families! Go to Events for Aug. 22nd and see if you can bring the family and join us for a picnic. We have a few families from your area.
Welcome Lisa! Does anyone know any details on the get together in Savannah? I would really hate to miss it!
Mary, doesn't do any good to have my Nick so close, he just comes home to relax and "unwind" or so he says!. Won't cut the yard though he helped me put in a flower garden on mother's day. (Best present he could have given me as I am disabled & have alot of back & nerve problems) He usually spends most of his waking hours running around with his friends except when it's time for home cooked meals. Week before last he had me cook a real "southern" meal with BBQ pulled pork, navy beans cooked in ham & my homemade special corn bread for his new girlfriend who is from Maine. He is wanting me to put together a cook book so she can cook for him (although he's a pretty good cook himself!).
Sandy, I don't know anymore about the Savannah gathering than you! I think someone needs to just take charge and come up with a plan and see how it goes! I will be glad to coordinate it if no one else wants to.
Carol, Okay with me for you to take charge. I keep my granddaughter during the week so sometimes it's hard to plan things (she's 2 and very good at it!). Can do weekends and week days just say the word and I'll be there!
Hi Alli, My name is Elaine and I'm from Loganville, Ga. I just read your message about getting your sons box today. I got mine as well....I never got that one phone call upon arrival, so I'm feeling just lost! When I opened the box and got his clothes out, His smell lingered and it was if he were right there beside me....Sounds crazy I know, but it was comforting. So, I'm assuming that our boys are doing their boot camp together, since Garett left Monday as well for Great Lakes. Would love to keep in touch! Hope to see you at the picnic in a few weeks. ITake care, Elaine
Alli, I did talk to his recruiter on Tuesday and he said that he did get confirmation that Garett was checked in, so that was a relief in itself. We didn't send a cell phone with him, since we were told no cell phones allowed. I'm not worried about him at all, I just wanted to hear his voice saying he was ok. What is Gavin's job going to be? Garett will be a Gunners Mate. He will do his A school in Great Lakes as well. I'm so glad to have met you here. I definitely need some support! Garett is my only child and is my world.....I know you relate! See you soon.... Elaine
