OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My son flew out on the 25th after waiting for 9 long months for an opening in the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) school in South Carolina.

Just learned today that he is in ship 11.

Roddy goes to MEPS 11/9 and off to GL 11/10. He is going to be IS and will continue on to Dam Neck, VA. And and far as snow and my son, he took 2 days of snowboarding lessons!! San Diego and snow are far apart!! ..
My son is leaving Nov. 4th for boot camp and then off to MAA school in Texas.
I am so happy, proud and sad all at the same time. I had no idea I could be all of those at once!!
hello everyone our son left on the third and we had a huge thanksgiving dinner for him both sides of the family came and it was great. Remember your depper may have some issues so if he/she gets moody let it go. Ours did and I cried the whole time (doesnt help I am 45 ;) ). He did have a good sense of humor and called me Elmo every time I cried and talked at the same time because my voice went up two octaves.... lol. I heard from him once so far and I have his ship# and division. If you have any problems or questions call the recruiter and if you don't get the answers call again. Remember they are grown up and are young women and men BUT they were ours first and no one can ever love them like us.
My son left of the 4th and our recruiter said he would have his address on Friday (Nov. 6th). I called and left a message and received "no" call back so I called him again today and he said he did check but did not have it yet. so now he said maybe Monday!! Ugh, I have his girlfriend, sister and family just waiting for his address......but still nothing. Like you said radioma4 I will just keep calling him until I get the answer I am looking for. We just want to get the letters going that way ASAP!!!!
My son, Dan, leaves tomorrow 11/8/09 for Baltimore and the GL on 11/9/09. A school for Corpsman training will be at GL as well.
My daughter shipped November 18, 2009 (Seabees) HEO (Heavy Equipment Operator)
My son left 11/18 also. Got my 30 second phone call around 10:00 last night. How was your day today?
All comments prior to Grasshoppers on Nov 19th are from 2009.
