My son left on Monday the 25th and arrived in GLs on the 26th. He called last night at 12:31 AM and WE MISSED THE CALL! I wish we could of at least heard his voice. Hopefully, you daughter is doing well and you heard from her.
Good morning ColoradoMom,

I am sorry to hear that you guys missed the call. I slept with my cell phone in my hand so that I would not miss the call and I did eventually hear from her at 11:34 p.m. Monday night saying that she made it and would call again in 3 weeks. I have been online reading everything I find about navy boot camp.

I hope that she is doing well too and the same for your son.

I guess you and I can touch base again once we hear more from them.
Hello my broter left this morning for boot camp from Harrisburg Pa. It was the hardest thing i ever had to do to see him leave on the bus.....I feel like I am in slow motion today. It all seems like a dream....I worry alot especially about my little brother. I am so proud of him but it is hard. Good luck to you and your daughter and family..Please if you or Colorado Mom need anything please know I am here as well!!!
Monica, that is about the exact time my son called. It was so good to hear from him! ColoradoMom, I'm sorry! :(
My son also left for GL on Monday Jan 25th from Harrisburg Pa and arrived in GL on Tuesday the 26th. We received a cell phone call from him when he was at the airport waiting for his flight, and the I AM HERE call around 10:30PM. He also said he would next be able to call in approx. 3 weeks. I will call his recruiter on Friday to get his address. I worry about him, as this is the first real time he will be away from home for an extended period, but he has been very independent since he was a little boy, so I know he will be OK. Good luck to all you other Moms!
Hello Josh's mom! My mom received my brother Anthony's phone call at 10:30 last night as well. I am too worried about my little brother as he too was never away from home. I cried all day yesterday. Today I am a little better. I wrote him two letters already it helps. Where in Pa are you from? Eight weeks cannot come fast enough!! Good luck to you!!
Hello Mellisa1213. We live a few miles from Allentown. Josh called me from the airport in Harrisburg, and said there were 4 total leaving for GL on the same flight, so I m sure your Anthony was with him Will you be going to Anthony's PIR? If so, perhaps we will meet you there! We have written Josh two letters also, and are impatiently waiting for his address! Good luck to Anthony and your family as well!
That would be me. My son left out of JAX on Tuesday for BC in the GL. My son called once from the airport and then when he got on base, he was able to talk to his Dad but I missed the call. I have been writing him letters everyday since they left and my blue candle is lit.
Hope all of your children are doing well, I am sure we will see each other on Graduation day!
I can't wait to have my son's address so I can send him the cards & letters that I have for him already!!
Good morning. I received my daughter's "kid in a box" last night. I was so excited to open it. Hopefully you will get your box soon. Now I am looking forward to receving the graduation packet.
We also received the "kid in a box" yesterday. Now looking for that letter with his address as many friends and relatives want to write letters to him. I called his recruiter friday to get his address (his recruiter actually suggested I do this) but when I called, he seemed to do a 180 degree turn. He said he would look into it and "try" to get his address, but told me i would get it in the mail in a few days anyway. He promised a call back, but I didn't get one. I wonder if this is common practice. He is relatively new to his recruiter job, and I got the impression he may not know the procedure for getting the address. Oh well!
