There seems to be so many of you lately!!! It is wonderful that you will have each other's support while going thru the process together.

Thought I would start this thread so you can at least connect and share stories together. Seems like there is a fair amount of you in Great Lakes and just as many more trying to decide if you can more to Great Lakes.

hey girls! my husband left for bootcamp tuesday morning! i miss him tons!!
6 weeks ago my hubby left and now we are leaving in a week to see him graduate. It is hard and the days drag on sometimes, but I have looked forward to the letters and the phone calls.. In this case absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. If you ever need to chat or have any questions, please let me know! :)
oh wow they get phone calls?! that makes me happy! how often do they get them?? i bet you are soo glad to see your hubby again so soon. im sad my journey has just began.
My husband got about 5 phone calls...some only get 1..it all depends on the div, how well they do and stuff. I got 3 short ones and 2 30-1hr long ones! It was the most amazing thing ever. Just hope and pray he is in a good div!! Good luck with everything, his graduation will be here sooner than you think!
My husband has two more weeks of bootcamp and only got one phone call. It was amazing though! 52 minutes long. He is in a div that does alot of goofing around so when they get the chance to earn calls it never happens.
Josh's wife- youre almost to the end! My husband graduated last friday. i cant believe how fast it went by. Now we have another 6 weeks before we will have a house. Hopefully it goes by faster since we can actually talk to him every night!
did you get approved for base housing? I am hoping we will! :)
we are going to have to wait for base housing too. was 6 weeks the wait time for you??
They told us that the wait for housing is 45 days, but if something comes available sooner, they will call and we can take it. Hopefully we don't actually have to wait that long!
thanks. i hope its not really that long for me either...
OMG im so excited that they can get calls.. i was so down about that i thought they didnt get any!! i cant wait to get my first letter :)
My hubby got about 6 calls total, some were 5 minutes and the last one was 40. We have 2 kids, so some of the calls were about dependent paperwork and bank stuff. I received letters every Wednesday and then more recently every Monday and Wednesday. I am realizing that every division is different, so it just depends n their schedule. I am leaving on Thursday for GL! Can someone tell me what the weather has been like? I know SNOWY and COLD, but we want to do some sightseeing... is it pack a parka and thermals or heavy jacket and layers? :)
