My bf's family and I are making our reservations this weekend.  Just have to decide the best place to stay:  easy commute to the base, reasonable but nice.   Have you all with a March 26 PIR date made your reservations?

We just made our reservations for 3/26 PIR at Holiday Inn Express. Seems like a nice place. Close to base, has a pool, and breakfast included. They charge $5/each way per person for the graduation shuttle though. Not sure if the other hotels charge for this or not.
We made ours at Marriots Renaissance Inn. Heard from previous PIR families that was a good place to stay. I liked the bedroom and living room with pull out couch.
I made mine the Ramada Inn....its only me going out.
We also chose the Ramada, for really no particular reason...had nice extras
I made reservations at the Residence Inn by Marriott near base and has bed and sofa bed seperate. Our son's girlfriend is also coming with us( a real sweetie)So she can share with our daughter. You can find places online by searching boot camp hotels for Navy.
My son, MIL, and I are staying at La Quinta Inn in Gurnee. When I booked it was $42/night.
Im staying at the Marrits Renaissance Inn (with lewismom) :) cant wait!
Ramada is nice but fills up very fast becaue they host the meet and greet for the families, the night before. We travel up there pretty frequently because my daughter is in A school at GL, we always (after several bomb out at other hotels) stay at the Candlewood sweets, We alreays rent the handicap room because it is like 10 or 15 dollars cheaper and almost all the suites are handicapped accessible so I dont feel bad about renting it. They have a full kitchen, stove, seperate bedroom everything is very nice an clean and VERY reasonable.
Made our arrangements at the Residence Inn. They had a good rate and I could stay one night on points earned from work travel. I am looking forward to meeting all the wonderful women who went through this same journey.
Hi Montana,
We are staying at the Residence Inn also. Are you planning on taking the shuttle to GL or driving?
We are staying at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Chicago Waukegan just 2-1/2 miles away
