For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I think this is addtional training, not their A school (?) What is Pre-Bud? How long does that last? Who has to go thru Pre-Bud?

Can anyone translate what Gen. Petraeus is saying about the Iraq war on this Tues. at 10:02 EST? this is why I am enlisted and follow orders because I don't have the first clue about some of the things he is saying. Can anyone shed some light?

I havent a clue, as a mom I dont go looking for information on what is going on with the war. If I stumble across info, then I pay attention. Yes ....... I am still in bury my head in the sand mode :)

I can understand that. I have tried to teach my mom football many times but she prefers to be an ostritch. (spelling?) :) we are all in this together and if you're worried about your loved ones destination in the afterlife, I WILL GO DOWN THERE AND GET THEM, i promise. but you know better than I that they will all go to heaven. cling to faith hope and love and conquer your fears through Christ. have a wonderful victorious day everyone.

Wow! I was on this site a few days ago and there was only one or two pages on this forum. Ya'll been typing furiously. Sorry, I've been evesdroping. Is anyone suffering from carpel tunnel yet? You guys are a hoot! My son PIR's on 4/18 and we Moms are meeting at Flanagans for the alcohol (instead of Full Moon). Anyone been to Flanagans?

OMG - you are probably so right about the carpel tunnel situation...hmmmmm how will we explain that to our bosses?!
I personally have not been in the GL area for years so I don't know Flannagens but if they serve alcohol - please toast all the moms that are waiting IMpatiently for their PIR.

I've posted more information in the School & Education forum on the Seals program itself, but here on the details on Pre-Buds...
BUD/S Phase Descriptions
Indoctrination: Gives students an introduction to required BUD/S techniques and performances.
First Phase (Basic Conditioning): Includes continuous physical conditioning. Students also study small boat seamanship and hydrographic surveys and charts.
Second Phase (Diving): Covers SCUBA skills. Students learn open and closed circuit combat diving and how to complete long-distance underwater transit dives.
Third Phase (Land Warfare): Includes land navigation, small-unit tactics, rappelling, military land and underwater explosives, and weapons training.
Post-BUD/S Training
BUD/S graduates attend several more courses before they are assigned to a team
