OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank you. I downloaded Firefox and got on to website and got my pass.
Some Tips about Firefox for newbies:
The most recent Firefox has a feature which uploads with all your tabs from your last session. Sometimes that takes a long time, especially if you have been in various sites. I normally close all my pages first before I close the browser window. Periodically, I clean out the cookies, history, etc. On the Browser menu bar, go to "Tools".
Use the Bookmarks feature to save your links. Click on Bookmarks, click on Bookmark This Page. You should probably create folders for various topics (ie. a folder for all your Navy related links). Left click on Bookmarks, right click anywhere on the drop down list, a little window will pop up with a few options, click on New Folder etc. To find you Navy related sites, click on Bookmarks, then point your mouse over Navy folder and all the sites that you saved will be listed.

WITHIN THE N4M SITE: If you are getting too many email notifications on your regular email address (and or your Blackberry), you don't have to go nuts, simply reset your preferences. Go to SETTINGS (the little box on the upper right hand corner), click on EMAIL (on the upper left side) and check your preferences on the next page., The only two I checked are N4M messages when I receive 1) a personal message and 2) a comment on MYPAGE. Just remember to check the group's page periodically (along with you INBOX and your own personal page).
