Yes, Yes, God is Good all the time!!!! Nothing new about the company. He states boot camp is very intense, HE SAID SOMETHING HE NEEDED... I'm so proud of him!!!! It's everything he expected. Most important, HE MISSES ME SO MUCH, VERY TEARY EYES NOW......
I bet he does miss you!!! Nothing like reminding them how good home is than to have a big man screaming in your face! I know from myself and watching my nephew graduate..when you see him..he will appear taller, older, and more mature. In this short time they will have changed so much. Oh and I dont know if you saw I post made somewhere..but they will have bobble head syndrome...They will be so lean that there head seems to have grown...lol You will laugh when you see him and think about the bobble head comment!!

Stay strong mom!!!! PIR is right around the corner!!
I got 5 letters today, I am so happy to hear what is going on. I will tell you guy's what she wrote me. Mom and Dad, So when we got to Chicago, who would have thought that most if not all airports have a place called a USO (ha, ha, ha).where military people go to relax, watch t v or movies and eat free food, it was cool. We ate dinner around 6pm then about 50 got on the bus and headed for boot camp. Mom, this base seems big and so over whelming when I got here not to mention I was just overwhelmed by the fact I was there period. We all ran in, and stood in line facing each other and got yelled at for a little about nothing in particular. Then I had to pee in a cup with 8 or so other girls there, doing the same in the same room, oh yeah, there's no such thing as bathroom doors here, we do all of our business in front of everyone, but I've gotten used to it. There are 30 girls on my ship,we found out we would be a integrated division. The males weren't going to be there for a week, the women spent the week learning to fold the limited amount of clothes, and learning how to make our racks, that I hate more then anything. we've stripped and remade these racks under a time limit enough times to make me sick. the next letter I got my Daughter thought the work uniforms were cool, blue computer style camo. Kristine thinks the food is good, normal cafeteria food but way healthier. They are super strict about nutrition and wellness.
Kristine said a big problem here, everybody's trying to be in charge, so people are already fighting all the time, which get's us bitched at constantly. These girls are so chatty, all they want to do is talk all the time, when we're not supposed to talk at all. My daughter said she will get to call 3 times for 1 hour each.
Kristine said she got six shots, 5 with a air gun, one in the butt, they call the peanut butter shot, hurt like hell.
Kristine was surprised how many can't swim ( Navy, water?? you would think you would learn before BC) there's 31 females and like 43 males in the division and i"d say about 30 can't swim.

Now on the fourth letter Kristine writes, M &D I just realized how easy I had it at home. I just want to apologize to you for ever giving you a hard time or not doing what you asked of me.

Fifth letter, 03/04/10 about 55 got to go and have dental work done and wisdom teeth pulled. In two weeks she has lost 3 o/o body fat and her clothes feel a little bigger. Kristine said to send, phone cards, stamps, pictures, and she said, tell me the new's for Gods sake I'm completely secluded, I have no clue what's going on in the world

well I hope I didn't bore you
Laura
Was'nt bored at all. I guess girls get into the details more. I learned alot. We recieved our first letter today. The mailman was 3o min. late and I kept going to the window, turned out to be a different mailman than usual, it figures, a test of patience. Anyway heres, the letter:

All is well. To be completely honest . . . Maritime was much more strict in a lot of ways. ( he went to Suny Maritime in the Bronx, NY for 1 yr. and 1 semester, so he has a little expierence with regiment) Its not bad though. I was R-cpo ( Division Leader) for one week. I did alright but I was removed because i'm gonna be trying out for Special OPS.. . .did'nt know I could do that during Boot. ( his dream is to go into the SEAL program, but he had a hard time with the run and did'nt pass in PST during DEP time) Theres alot of guys from the South here. Other than that everythings going just fine.

Well I'm so PROUD of him. Been walking on a clod since I got the letter. Lets keep up the prayers!

Donna
Soooo excited, I even spelled cloud wrong, thats because I'm walking on one! :) LOL
Hi Donna, your comment of girls giving more details than boys is so true! I can remember having to go to all the girls my son went to homecoming or prom with to get the details of what happened. His version was always,"Went to dinner, went to the dance, danced, came home." They don't realize we need details! : ) When my daughter went I knew who went with whom, who was wearing what, and any other good gossip those types of events bring.
Laura, Thank you for sharing!
I'll being saying extra prayers all day! : )
Never have too many prayers!! *smiles* Im so proud of our kids!!!
We did good moms!!
I got a phone call!!!! My son called about an hour ago. It was so good to hear his voice! We only got to talk for about 20 minutes, but it he sounded good. Doing well on inspections and tests. What a relief! : )
Yeah got my phone call too....She is sick. Recruit junk! Seems like we they all get sick at one point!!
But its expected and they are ready for that. I was sorry to here she did not pass her rescue swimmer test..But she sounded up beat and If I know her she wont quit. I am very proud of her. I hope she keeps it up and will keep them all in my prayer as they come up to more test and inspections.
I got my 1st call tonight around 6p. I'm so glad I didn't miss it. He sounded good. He said he's gained 10 lbs. The food is great, every meal is like eating at the Golden Corral. I asked him how long he got to eat and he said 12 minutes. He talked about the uniforms, I could tell he was impressed with them and liked the way they fit. He also likes theblue digital camo. He said they make his eyes look awesome. I'm sure they do! Man I miss my kid! He said he's been made RPOC. I'm not sure what that is, but if he can hold on to it, he gets to march with a cutless at graduation. He did say tomorrow 3/16 starts 'hell week'.
