While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Katie, Yes its me Mrs. F, My son is 21yrs. He went to SUNY maritime , Bronx, NY for 1yr. and 1 semester, came home for break and said he was done, and wanted to join the Navy. He wants Special OPS, but had some difficulty with the run time. Hes still trying, though. Hes going to San Diego, for Sonar Tech training, in the meantime while hes doing that hes going to try for Rescue Diver. He's 6ft. and very lean and muscular. I'm so glad to hear they are coming together as a Div. finally, "they" say it takes about 3 weeks for this to happen. He was discouraged in the beginning. He does have some expierence already with marching, folding, polishing and ironing, that was a plus for him. He was Div. Leader the first week of bootcamp. I'm so proud of him, as you must be too of your son. I'm glad they got to know one another!

I got two letters yesterday. Apparently they were allowed 20 minutes for writing on Tuesday. It sounds like he's adjusting and doing better. He was made the dental yeoman, which he is enjoying. They just found out recently about the earthquake in Chile. Not knowing what is going on the "real" world is probably the biggest thing for him (and everyone else, I'm sure). We sent the brackets for the NCAA tournament, which really made his day. : )

Hello Mrs. F. and Andrew's mom!!! I'm just getting ready to write Zac another letter. It seems to me that my letters aren't all that exciting, but getting my mundane letter probably connect him to the outside world and what the rest of the family is doing. I wonder if they get to do anything special on Easter or if it's just a regular work day for them. I'll have to eat his Easter candy for him :-) My last letter from Z was very, very positive. He's really excited to be going EOD. I have pics of Z on my page -- feel free to take a peek. Katie

OK LADIES!!!
19 DAYS!! I can't believe were are on the down hill stretch..and starting to go fast!!
I think the beginning was the waiting game and now its...Make sure I get my plane tickets...The hotel...
The car...Making sure I have enough money for food and fun...
Getting the paper work to get her sister out of school for a week with all work to bring with her.
Setting up people to take care of dogs, mail, ect..
So now 19 days seems so close!! Not that I want it to slow down for a min!!
I think today (sorta havent been to bed yet so to me its still sunday..but I guess its after 1am so its Monday now) They have the second big academic test. Keeping them all in my prayer to not just pass but to excel on the test!! I am hoping that hell week was not to terrible and that everyone made it through with flying colors!!
Can't wait to meet all that are going in 18 days!!! -

I know how you feel! I just wonder if it's gone as quickly for the kids as it has for us. I doubt it! ; ) I guess the last big test is Battle Stations. Any idea when that happens?

Hi Ellen, I believe Battlestations is week 7 on a Thursday. Then we get the "I'm a Sailor " call on Friday. Can't wait, I too am getting all my ducks in a row. Were leaving on the 14th and driving with the grandmas and maybe our 26 yr. old son. We will be at the greet and meet at the Ramada on Thurs.
We missed a phone call last Sunday, and recieved one short letter last Wed. Hope to hear from him tonight. Was teary eyed last night, but better today. How about you any calls? He seemed fine and was joking that they had gotten IT'D. Were actually looking for two more tixs, one for his brother and another for a friend. If you know of anyone with tixs that there not using let me know. Thanks -

Hi Donna,
I've only gotten the one call. He did mention in his last letter that they have another call coming up. I hope I didn't miss it, but I didn't see any missed calls on my cell phone or on the house phone.
I'll keep an ear open for extra tickets. My in-laws live about two hours so they'll be coming with us. My daughter was disappointed that she won't be able to go, but she understands grandparents get the priority.
We're getting closer! Just a little over two weeks now. : ) -

Good morning Ladies,
Has anyone gotten a phone call? I got a couple of letters last week also. Everything is going fine, and K can't wait to go to A-School. K only needs to go across the street for school. Where is everyone else going?
I can't believe they are almost done. My son is now on his 3rd week, I received the "Letter" but not his "Box", I wonder where that went. -
