I didn't think it would be this hard either. Hearing from her helped a great deal. It will happen soon for the rest of you!!
I am trying really hard to be OK, but I need to hear from my son!! I have gotten not letters, no phone calls, no nothing. I knw they keep saying "no news is good news", but I am missing him so badly and not hearing from him is not helping. Not knowing how he's doing is not helping. Your support and the info coming from your loved ones helps a bit, but I need to talk to hear from my son. This is really hard right now.
Tomorrow should be their first holiday. We all should have a call. I think based on what my daughter said her free time on Sundays would be 7am to 11am but that was when they could take a long shower, shave, etc. Maybe they will get to make calls at that time also. It will be alright. I am sorry you have not heard anything. I almost wish I hadn't said anything but I thought it would help some of the families. One more night!!!
lorraineld...no trust me, your info did help a lot!! I just need to hear from my son directly so I can know he's ok. It was good to know what's going on and how things are going with them. I'm just not used to not talking to my son for over 3 weeks. He's likely more OK than I am...LOL. You all have been so wonderful with news and support and I really appreciate that!!
I am sure he is ok and everything will be ok. Keep the faith. We will all hopefully get a call soon. I will be thinking about you and hoping for the best!!
KMMoore: I am with you waiting to get the first letter or call! Not sure if our kids" forgot" how to write or if it is something earned! Either way, it makes you nervous. Maybe tomorrow will be good news for us and Lorainneld, let us know if you hear more! You are our lifeline right now!
I carried my phone every step I took today but no call. I am so disappointed and know that everyone else is. I did notice that several others with the same PIR had calls today.A freind said that sometimes they all just can't get to the phone and if they run or look like they are trying to beat someone else to the phone they make them go to the back of the line. Very depressing. I checked this site all day watching to see if anyone of our unit got the call. I will let you know if anything happens.
Lol, at least we can all be depressed together. : )
Yeah I carried my phone all day just in case. I even had it all through church prepared to answer it if he called during church. I sure wish I knew when we are to get our week 3 call. Just remember we are all in this together and can be there for one another. If anyone gets letters, be sure to let us know what's going on...we need the information!
Yes ! I did the exact same thing, I had my phone out on my lap at church and then had to go to work and I swear I looked at my phone fifty times during the shift : ) I'm so ready to hear something from him, even if it's another 3-4 sentence thing like at the end of a form letter just to let me know he's ok. I actually have gotten to talk to my husband since he's been there. It was just a few days after he got there and he had to call to have me fax something to them. It was wonderful to be able to talk to him, but he was very sad/depressed. He's not used to being away from me or his family and I think he was probably shocked to learn how hard and stressful boot camp really is :( He didn't really think it would be bad even though we all tried to tell him. It's just soo different from anything he's ever had to put up with. I really am looking forward to hearing from him whether it's a letter or a call.
I think we are the only Div. that hasn't received calls. Hopefully tonight will be are night!
Just received a 20 minute phone call from my husband!
He said the mail situation has been a mess, they misplaced a bunch of the mail and so thats why a lot of us have not received mail yet. Hopefully this week we should all be getting some phone calls though!
