Don't know if anyone is on here that has any one in this division yet. I looked up the name of the ship, had to ask my roomie if she still had her training guide from boot as i had left mine at home. Ship 12 is the USS Trition. Its a submarine. Here is a like to Wiki that details alot of info about it and how it became famous and why one of the buildings on RTC was named after it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Triton_%28SSRN-586%29
I believe the brother div for 181 is 180..... but i don't know for certain.
Has anyone heard about 181? any letters yet, phone calls or anything thing from their Brother Div? is 180 their brother div, does anyone know?
My son is in ship 12 div 181, I still haven't heard from him other than the form letter and his"box" I do have questions, is it true that the only time we will get a call is if something is wrong?? and is it normal not to have gotten a letter yet?
It's so nice to know that there is someone else who has someone in this division, i was starting to wonder. I haven't gotten letters yet either, i was starting to wonder if they were holding my letters from/to him because of me being in A school right across the street. I feel better now knowing that others haven't gotten letters yet either. When i was in, we couldn't sent mail the first Sunday there and we didn't receive mail for a while either b/c of needing to have a Mail PO. Recruits are allowed to make phone calls, usually only 3, one of which is right after they graduate Battlestations, since BS is the actually graduation for recruits, that is when we get our official Navy baseball cap. The ceremony is more for families. maybe they will be able to send letters today.
So, when you were in bootcamp, were you able to write each evening, or only on Sundays? My son is going to A school in Pensacola Fl. I am not sure yet when he goes to that, I hope he's not a "grad and go" . When you had your liberty, did you have saturday and sunday with family, or just Friday after graduation? I hope you get a letter very soon, Happy Easter, Cara
technically, we were only allowed to write on Sunday's during holiday routine at first, then we were allowed to write on Tues and Thursday nights for about 30. But if we didn't mind losing sleep we would write in our racks after taps. just had to be careful that we didn't get caught, the RDC's would sometimes come back b/c they forgot something, the OOD would come in, and we couldn't leave the papers out while we slept b/c nothing was allowed in our racks except our bodies. For my liberty weekend i had Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to spend with my family b/c i wasn't Grad N' Go. Being a Grad N' Go, means you leave sometime after graduation when ever the military has arranged for transportation for you. It could be 30 min after your graduate or the next day or for my division it was the Tuesday after Gradation that everyone left, although at different times. your recruit will know if he is Grad N' Go and if he is what time he leaves. If he is not Grad N' Go, then he will know when he leaves for A school but may not know until closer to Graduation.
thank you for the information. What is your fiancee job? Where is his A school?
my fiancee is an MM (machinist mate), i'm actually rather lucky in that he will be stationed with me here, but for no where near as long as i am here. LOL

I actually got my first phone call from him today. I happened to be SIQ (sick in quarters) today to rest up from moving desks yesterday and was able to get his call, i dont know if i would have been able to answer it had i not been in stuck in my room. he said that this past sunday was the first day they were allowed to send letters, so we should be getting mail in the next few days. i had actually changed my ringtone to something that would wake me up in the off chance he was able to call, and OMG, he called! He has given me some requests tho, im to send him pics and lyrics and magazine articles and stuff. They are allowed to get clippings from magazines and newspapers as long as we dont mail them the whole thing.

I hope you were able to get your phone call as well.....i can't wait to see if i have any letters from him but i dont think im gonna go down and look tonight, it hurts just to walk around my room, i dont want to navigate steps till i have to tomorrow.
omg!!! i got a call from my son yesterday!! I was so excited, I cried! My son said the same thing about the mail. Actually, My son has something to do with the mail, My husband said he had to attend a class or something. Anyway, Im not sure if he is in charge of the mail, but he did say he was his section leader. What a wonderful call, I was shocked. I think I should get some mail today. I hope you feel better. Thanks for the info. My son is aircrewman. Not sure what his actual job will be yet.
I have been meaning to ask you what your job is?? How is A school going for you? Feeling better?
Im an FC, Firecontrolman, hence my user name ^_^ I have nothing to do with fighting fires, from what i understand i will be the person hitting the launch missile button, LOL, among other things. I actually haven't gotten to my actual A school training, i completed like a pre-A school training about a week and a half ago, so now im back on holds for about 4 more weeks till i class up for my A school.
I am feeling better, i just needed a day to recoup from moving desks. i felt like i did an upper body workout x10, it hurt just to move and breathe.
It would be neat if my son and your fiancee new each other. How many people are in each ship?
