I am hoping that we can all start a discussion under all the Divisions graduating on April 16th.

So this is one for ship 13, Division 159.

Hope that we can connect and support each other during this time!!

Hi Laura,

My son is going to A school in Dam Neck, (Virginia Beach) VA. That's only 3 hours from us, so I'm sure we'll see him pretty regularly, even if it means us driving down there. No problem, though. I love VA Beach. I spent all my high school summers there, met my husband on Dam Neck Beach, and lived there for 4 years, so it's like home-away-from-home for us. : )
Everyone get letters today???
My daughter passed all her tests, inspections and PFA...Yeah!
Passed her shooting test and has never held a gun before...proud of her!
Hell week over!!! Check!
2nd PFA passed! Check!
Flag won...check
1st ribbons recieved....check!

15 days left......I cant wait!!
Woo-hoo!!!! Go Liz!!!! Shooting was the only part of boot camp Andrew was looking forward too. He's shot before, but I think only with rifles. He did pretty well.

No letter yesterday, but we usually get them on Thursday anyway. Got my fingers crossed!
No letter yesterday, but my daughter got one two days ago. Maybe mine was held up in the mail?

Two weeks from now we'll be celebrating with our SAILORS! : )
Its coming close!! I cant believe I will be leaving in 6 days!! and 8 days, 23 hours, 42 mins, 51 seconds till I see my girl!! I cannot wait. This part is almost as hard as the beginning! I want to talk to her, hug and kiss her!!
Thanks for all the support...and were almost done!!

Hugs,
Lisa
Got a letter or really 2 from daughter today. So excited. She didnt mention anything out of the normal for Easter. THough she did go to church. First song they sang was one we sing all the time..and made her cry. But they are doing great. For her division 159
Monday the 5th" Gas chamber
Tuesday: Personal inspection and bunk inspection
Wedsday: Final PFA
Thursday: Academic test 3
Friday: Drill inspection
Monday-Tues Battle stations and capping ceremony ..then phone call!
Im so excited until I remembered I will be on a flight to Illinois on Tuesday. I hope its not till after I land that she gets a call.

She actually says she is going to miss bootcamp and the ppl. Hard to imagine after the first week. But I have 2 really great friends I still talk to that I went to bootcamp with in 1986. wow seems like yesterday.
Oh and on the first letter it started off all sad...Should of looked at the date first..but I was hanging on every word.. "I failed my test and will prob be cycled back" My brain went WHAT...then followed by april fools!! I will have to remember to smack her for that one...The only thing she is complaining about is there Bicillin shots...They call it peanut butter for good reason...Its thick and painful!

Were days from celebration! 8 days, 10 hrs and 17 mins to be exact!! lol
Thankyou so much for sharing this info. I feel that I've been in the dark. No letter as of yesterday, so I am expecting one today, hopefully. I was trying to put the pieces together and thought BS might be tonight. Now I dont have to do that 'wondering thing' anymore. Thanks to your daughter giving us the heads up on the schedule. Thanks again!

Donna
Good Morning Parents of PIR 4/16........ Can't wait to see our kids!!!!!!! Received a letter on yesterday.
I got all teary-eyed when I read about L crying during the hymn. What a sweetie!
I know...me too. Called my pastor to tell him. I'm glad she felt she had something like home!!
I'm so excited about seeing her..but almost equally excited to meet everyone! Put a face to our kids!

SO keep all the kids in your prayers...Monday and Tuesday are HUGE days for them....
And the capping ceremony is cool...from recruit to sailors....
They all of sudden become real people and not recruits, but shipmates to their RTC's. It's a big deal!

Hugs, <3 and prayers for all!
