Anyone else have a new sailor on hold for ET school?? My son just graduated Boot Camp 02/19 and is currently on hold. He would like to take some online classes and is checking into that.

Hello! I have a son who is ET, he PIR'd on 1/29 and he classed up for his ATT school last week. So he spent roughly a month on "hold", not too bad if you read what some other sailors have had previously! Congrats on your new ET Sailor! :)
My son is an ET who is currently at BC with PIR 5/7. I will tell him to anticipate a wait after PIR. Does that mean that he can be with the family longer than just the weekend after PIR? Thanks for all the info.!
Jaime just classed up for ATT school last week. He's been told that he will have a 1-2 month hold after that for A School. What ship are your kids on? Jaime is on the Wisconsin. He did not get any longer time for visiting us during PIR weekend and even had a 4 hour watch on Sun morning!! That was depressing but PIR is so wonderful you will treasure the time he does get to spend with you!!! I am already wanting to go back to Chicago.
My son just classed up for ET A school on Friday 4/9. He was on hold for slightly more than 2 months (2 months and a few days).
Tammy, so your son is finished with the ATT part? I wonder if our sons know each other??
It's possible. My son was working as a student assistant in an ATT class while he was on hold. Is your son going to school days or nights?
Tammy- Jaime has day classes.
My son PIR'd on Apr 16th 2010. He is supposed to start school on the 26th. Would that be ATT school before A school? he is supposed to be an ET.
Shortbecky - Yes he will go to ATT first. Once he completes ATT he will probably go back on hold for a time to await an opening for A school. It sounds like the holds are getting a little shorter though. So maybe it won't be too long for him.
