In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

So are we all ship 7 division 202??? i have been compiling a list of names and hometowns that way CJ can look around and see who he might recognize. I "friend " someone and let them know his last name. I know we have to be careful about names. So just send me a message or friend request and maybe one Sunday when they have a moment they can actually talk. LOL Also let me know if this is ok with you.

I would love to get to know each other better. Especially since I am hoping to get more seats for graduation! LOL! :-) I keep forgetting to put my name when I type comment. My name is Margaret. I'm from Texas. And my son is James. And I can't wait to see if I get a letter this week! :-)

We got our first letter today! James said that (at the time he wrote) they had had mostly, "processing," days. They had worked out as a division only twice and done 2 "bonus" workouts. (apparently for getting in trouble, not as a reward!) He says they took lots of blood which didn't hurt, but took a long time. And they gave him 6 shots.
James also says the yelling isn't so bad and they seem to be getting nicer... slowly. :-)
The food isn't bad but the getting up early stinks.
There isn't much more to tell, he says. Every day is the same. March around, sit in classes, fold uniforms, get yelled at, work out. He is thinking it may get better when they get to work out more. :-)
Well, that's my son. Working out is more fun than classes. lol! Good thing it's not me there!

Hi Margaret! Still no letter today . . . *pouty face* . . . but last week when we received the form letter it was on a Thursday, so I'm hoping tomorrow is our day! Thanks for sharing James' letter with us. I may not be hearing from my son yet, but it helps me to hear from others in his same division. :) Keep in touch and I'll let you know my son's take tomorrow. (hopefully) Jenifer

Hey Jen and everyone else! I hope that your letters arrive today!!! I got my hubby's letter yesterday. He mostly said the same things- a lot of processing. He mentioned the extra work-outs because "people's racks were a mess" lol. He mentioned that the RDC's aren't too bad, and that it is easier than what he expected. Which is always good. He said he went to church this past Sunday; he mentioned that there are different services that you can attend... other than that, he didnt say much else about RTC. He mostly wanted to know how it was at home, and how I was holding up.
Then he apologized for his bad handwriting and said "my hand hurts from polishing my boots". I felt bad, but I had to chuckle. At the end he wrote "Please write me as much as you can and send them ASAP". I PLAN ON WRITING 2 LETTERS A DAY! <3

Hi Margaret, Ann, Rebecca, Susan, (Elae-not sure of your name) and any other moms/spouses of Ship 7 Div 202! Received letter today. Yea!! The mail lady came early today while my husband had popped in from work for lunch . . . as though she knew we were anticipating this letter. Not too thrilled to hear my son has the same chest cold that he came down with as soon as he had arrived at Great Lakes. At "sick call" they gave him a "cold pack" and sent him back. I guess a cold pack is like a mini drug kit of acetiminophen/cold meds. He said it still isn't better and will go back to sick call in a few days if it's still lingering. Didn't like hearing that! He told me about 3 of their RDC's. Only 1 is a real yelling-type of guy, but he says even he backs off and is pretty funny when the division is doing a good job. He said he got yelled at early because he kept screwing up in his marching, but for me not to worry because he's got it down now. LOL! Gotta go get my letter down the street to the mailbox since my mail lady came early. Have a good day ladies! Jenifer

Yay! I'm glad you got your letter Jenifer! James' girlfriend got a letter today too. I'm so glad he had time to write to both of us! :-) I'm glad your son got the marching down, but I'm sorry to hear that he is sick. Try to remember that a regular cold can last as long as 3 weeks... maybe that will make it easier. Hopefully his will go away much sooner than that though! Will pray for him and you. :-)

Hi Ann! I'll keep your son and all of our sons/husbands in my thoughts and prayers. It seems like I have been reading that a lot of them are having some sort of illness or injury. I guess it goes with Boot Camp, unfortunately. I hope your son's isn't too serious. Who is to say what they would or could do for him up there? I've read with other things that often they treat you, might give a recruit LD (light duty) for a couple of days, and he can stay with their division if they keep up with passing their tests. Hopefully he'll know when he should go seek help.

Hi Jen. Thanks. I sent him a letter suggesting he keep in mind the 1.5 mile run and I know he wants to pass that. I suspect he will gauge what to do after being there awhile & observing how other recruit injuries are being handled. With his sports, he has lots of experience in working thru injuries.
