My fiance graduated boot camp April 30th, he still has not got his orders for A-school yet, doesn't know when he will fly down to Florida. I booked a flight and car rental for May 5th through the 19th a few weeks ago because he told me he would be in Florida the week after boot camp. He got his tentative orders, and they said he would be staying in Great Lakes until May 19th, but then he told me that someone told him that his orders weren't accurate. Anyways, I booked my flight to leave this Wednesday and don't know if I should change my dates for the $200 fee on it to the 19th or will he actually be in Florida sometime this week....any help or info would help? He is going to school for Aviation Structural Mechanic

let me know how that goes my hubbys still in boot camp his pir is may 21 and he is also will have same job!!
I would suggest calling the PAO (Public Affairs Office at GL). If they cannot help you the commander of GL has a profile on here somewhere. Ask him! Someone should be able to help you on that end. I find it odd that he doesn't have his orders yet. He should have gotten them already.
Hi! my husband is currently in pensacola classed up as an avaiation structural mechanic. Things are so crazy right now because all the orders come out of tennessee (as I understand it) and the base that facilitates all those orders is currently evacuated due to the flooding there. My husband graduates the 28th and we STILL dont know where we will be stationed because of this. 'Orders are currently on hold till such a time as they become available' lol.

I'm not sure if this helps you or not but I thought I'd leave the comment anyways in case it does help. Here is an article you might find interesting...

lol i just realized it's after the 5th and i was too late in responding anyways oops, I'm sorry. I do hope everything worked out for you
How long is the A-school for aviation structural mechanic?
My fiance was told it is 43 working days. and everything worked out PERFECT Matt flew down the 5th also so i got to spend two weeks visiting him in pensacola. I dont really like the town. really dirty but i LOVED seeing my sailor,
Thanks Chelsea for answering my question, last one was he on hold or he started his school right away when he arrived in P-cola?
No he is still on hold.
No definite date yet when he start his school? My husband will be graduating BC on July 1, I hope they start soon.
nope everything is way backed up, especially with the paper work issues. he thinks he may be rolling into the classes here soon, because he is in the pre-class classes but no one will verbally tell him what is going on and when he asks they say they dont know either.
I hope everything turns out good soon.
