My son is ship 9 div 227; got my letter yesterday. His box came on May 7th. I'm new to everything military and learning a lot from this website. Emotional time but I keep reminding myself this will be an amazing experience and life for him. MJ
Hello Mary Jo its nice to meet and know who's son is on the same ship as my husband. It was very emotional for me as well when I drop off my husband to his recruiter's office, I had to be strong for him. I show no tears when I said goodbye but the moment I left the parking lot and my way home I can't stop crying. 2 weeks down and 7 weeks to go for us. Are you going to your son's graduation?
Yes, we plan on going. When you speak husband I think of older people cuz I am. But I'm sure your husband isn't all that old. My son is 20 and has been DEP for almost a year. It doesn't seem that long because there is no recruiter here so he had to travel for meetings; the winter weather meant he didn't attend many and he just had a laid back life socializing with the Jr College friends. He's been ready for a long time but I would probably never have been ready. Will you go to graduation? Then, does your husband have a school to go to and will you have to relocate? I'm sure it's much harder for a wife than a mother; we expect our kids to leave at some point. Nice connecting with someone who's in the same boat (so to speak :D)
Mary Jo I just saw this post PIR is on July 1st and NOT July 2nd. Go to this link http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir7210/forum/topics/your-group-is...
Thanks for sharing; best to wait on my tickets until things are settled. MJ
I totally agree.. still waiting for his call...
Hey.. When did you husband get to Chicago? My boyfriend arrived there May 6th and I'm going crazy over here not knowing anything.. I'm guessing he arrived before that date because I have yet to receive anything..
Hello Joana, my husband arrived May 4 and just found they change there PIR to July 1st instead July 2nd.
Oh alright. That makes me feel better. I should be getting something soon hopefully then. Have you gotten any letters yet?
No letters and phone calls yet. I've been reading from other forums recruits get to mail out their mail on 2nd week when they arrived in BC and get to call on the 3rd week (anyone can correct me if I'm wrong). Hopefully I can get one this week, I have sent out my letters to him for 2 days now since I got his address last Thursday.
Hmm I have been wanting to send him letters, but I don't know the address. Before he left he said wait for him to send me one, but I am impatient. I have so much to tell him and can't. It is so frustrating! I just wonder if everything is being sent to his family and not me since I am not technically family, but I want to know just as much as his family would.
You should ask the parents of your boyfriend they should have receive the form letter by now it has his address listed.
