For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I tried to call the recruiter at the office and his cell but no response. He did tell us a couple of weeks ago not to try and call him as he would have no information. I had a question though , as the box arrived almost empty. No shoes, no clothes, just his Navy planner, with his bible in it, his cell phone, and a packet of papers that included Meps info, military processing and questionaire for national security positions. Some were copies and some looked original, I wander if that was sent in error. Did everyone get a packet in their box? Guess I'll find out soon enough.

I am not sure why that's all you got in his box. I got his clothes, shoes and bible( not sure why his Bible, they are supposed to be able to have a small one), But no packet or any papers. I would think you will receive his clothes soon. Hope you get answers soon, It is very hard not to know what is going on.

dear proud mom , i know how you feel my son just left monday & arrived last nite @ great lakes b.c. i got his first call which somewhat eased my pain , but it has been so hard i cried like a baby when he left:(, hes my only son & child so its been very difficult. congrats on your sons decision , bravo zulo :) good luck

Kimberly~ It is very hard and getting by one day at a time. My son has been at bc for 8 days, He called me yesterday to let me know his PIR date is July 1st and I was able to ask how he was doing and he said everything is fine, it was a quick call ,but it was so nice to hear his voice! It is such a wonderful thing these young men are doing, willing to serve their country! I am sure it is hard for them, but will be so worth it when they get to graduation. I am so proud of each and every one of them! We definitly can be proud moms! Good Luck also and we can all get through this together!

My son just left May 18th, I know exactly how you feel. I can't help but wonder if he is ok, I am sure he is but I just wish I knew and could get past the protective mode. I heard from him at the airport but I did not hear from him when he got to basic, so every time my phone rings now I practically jump. I am to hoping these 8 weeks go by fast, not really looking forward to seeing that box but then I am because that means I get a letter soon and I can begin to write.

Hello my husband left for boot camp in may 11 2010. His ship is 6 and div 934 i call the recruiter and he give me the adrres with this information. I got the box but nothing more. Already have sent a letter but have not yet received anything from him. I feel so sad because we do everithing together because i have a cornea transplant six months ago. If some body can help me with information about this process a will appreciate.

His graduation will be Jul 9 he is in the same group as my son. Your form letter will be coming soon. Hang in there... There is a group started PIR 7/9/10 . If you need to vent... talk ,,,,, etc this is the place. Add me as friend if you would like. I am new to this too. But maybe if we all stick together we can get through this . So where are you from? Do you have Children?

Im from Puerto Rico but we live in Orlando Florida 4 years ago. I have no children yet. His graduation is in Jul 9 ? but the boot camp is no 2 months and 5 days? what is PIR? Thank for everithing i need somebody to talk. Im sorry for my English is bad on occasions and sometimes i do not write very well. The form letter is all the information about his graduation the hotels and for make my ID. You receive a letter yet from you son. The first call the he make the first day when he arrive to boot camp faild and we no have connection. Thak you for you help.

Hey... PIR is the graduation... It is July 9. Yes they are in bootcamp that long. Just keep sending your letters... But be very positive in them. We need to keep them as positive as we can. They do not need any bad news or extra worries.

I recive today the form letter. The graduation is in july 9 like you told me Im happy because he wrote me three lines in the form letter. Know what i need to do?

first, come join our group PIR 7/09/10. I also started a seperate discussion in that group for our division. This will allow all of us with the same graduation date to keep in touch, and cheer each other on for the specific stage of bootcamp that our sailors are in.
Next, if you will be going to the graduation, I would recommend working on travel arrangements. Other than that, just hang in there. Try to remember that no news is good news. If there is something wrong, the Navy will let them make calls. The sailors will earn phone calls as well. Just try not to worry.
The food is great, the first two did nothing but write about what they ate. The days are long but the weeks go by fast. They are super busy. They have a lot to learn.
