If you have a recruit in this division please let me know. I know that all of us who have someone graduating on 06/11 have to stick together. But it is so nice to know the family and friends of the men my husband is spending all of his time with. Also, I thought we could send letter or cards to each others recruits to add a little variety to their letters. Please let me know what you think!

I know my husband would be so thankful to know that I am getting so much support from his classmate's families. I look forward to talking to everyone on here and learing more. I can not wait until the meet and greet to be able to put a name with a face.

Good luck Navy Ship 11 Div 212!!!

Dear Brenda,
Collin has never mentioned a YN. But you never know. They probably know eachother anyway. Do you have any details about the meet and greet. I just haven't had a chance to read every entry. I think it is at a Ramada? I am staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott. I have a full kitchen and my son wants me to cook his favorites for him. Just when I thought I was on a fun trip...haha. I promised him he could have whatever he wants. My parents are only staying until Saturday morning. I have to drive them back to the airport, then hopefully pick up Collin for the day and figure out what to do. I will have his girlfriend with me and that will be interesting. We are leaving on Sunday morning. I really hate not having a choice about speaking to my son. I can't wait for this time to be over. But I am very excited for him and can't wait to see the ceremony.
Gotta get some sleep now. Talk to you soon. This Memorial Day has a new meaning now.
Donna
ps thanks for the reminder---I printed my pass too!
Tawk to ya lata (that's Long Island for Talk to you later)
Hey Donna, You must be burning the midnight oil! I can tell you the M& G is at the Ramada on 200 N. Greenbay Rd. Waukegan, check this site out www.ramadainnwaukegan-gurnee.com. We tried to get the Residence Inn, but the agent told us there weren't any rooms available (wanted the kitchen). Since Collin wants you to cook, you should also know there is a Super Walmart across from your hotel(how convienent). Kyle wanted us to bring his girl too, we get along great and she is staying with us in our room, the only problem I have is what if Kyle has watch or is a Grad N Go. We will have to figure out what to do with each other till Sunday at 4:30 (flight leaves late). But I'm sure we will manage. At this point Kyle told his girl his orders are fly out of GL on 6/15 to Pcola and start A-school on the 23rd. You never know they could change until 6/11/2010 (get goosebumps when i see that date)! I am sure the guys know each other but by their last names unless they bunk in the vacinity of each other they would know the first names. I will be visiting the Walmart as soon as I can to get what I need to help Kyle with his feet. He said the boots have destroyed them (always had 4E width) so I am going to get whatever he wants to help with that. He is a thick head so he won't say a word about it to anybody because he want to go out the same way he came in (Fit for Duty). Oh the M&G is from 6-8p.m. and from what I understand if you want to order a dinner there you can but they will have some snacks and drinks also. I am with you on the fact that you can't pick the phone up and just ask questions? But this is another test for our sons, learning to do things and make mature decisions on their own. I have watched some Navy Grads on You Tube and the drum teams and the ceremony look awesome. I know I should take a huge purse to store the box of Kleenex I will need. I think at that point 81/2 weeks of PRIDE are going to pour out. What is Collin going to A-school for? There are a couple of different schools down there. I'm glad you printed the pass (don't know if I will need it) but just in case, we are planning on taking the shuttle from hotel to PIR. You do need that if you plan on parking in the lot that day! Well hope you got some good sleep! Tawk Lata Bren
Hi Bren,
Collin is as of now going to Pcola on 6/19. He is Aviation Electronics although he hasn't communicated his job details as yet. He was hoping to get his actual orders last week, I haven't had his next letter yet so I am on pins and needles. Well I have been thinking and since I have a kitchen and a BBQ area at the hotel at my disposal maybe we could have a group BBQ for those that are still around on Saturday afternoon. I don't know how many of our group will be there but it would be nice to get together again. It would be kinda cool for our sailors to see eachother with family outside of bootcamp. What do you think?
Donna, I wonder if that is your son? Kyle is going for Aviation Electronics/Electrician. How nice it would be for him to have a bud going down there. His girl told us about the orders. Maybe Collins girl would know (sometimes they think they told you and they write to other people and tell them instead). I called Katie and asked her if Kyle mentioned anything about PIR and wether he would be Grad n Go and she said "oh, he said he leaves for Pcola on the 15 and starts A shcool on 23rd", guess Kyle didn't think we wanted to know that!!!!! It would be nice to get together but I am kinda leaving things up to Kyle , maybe we can talk to the kids(men) through letters or a phone call!!!!! Everyone keeps telling us your not going to believe the change in your son (I kinda like the way he was)it will be nice seeing a more appreciative and proud son. I finished what i was working on for the meet n greet, so the next thing we should be hearing is I'm a Sailor!!! Nice chatting with you and hopefully Collin is the guy Kyle is talking about.
Glad to hear you girls are getting letters. I'll be anxious to get home and see if I have one too. I'll say lots of prayers tonight for the tomorrow. it's hard to believe they're almost to the end. I did go to the PIR group 6/4/10. I can't imagine what it's going to feel like to get that call. Does any of this still feel surreal to any of you?
Tynan is going to Pensacola, he said in his last letter he leaves the 26 of june. he's going for Air crewman
It really is nice to get on this site when we don't hear from them ourselves. It makes me feel connected even when I don't get a call or a letter, which I did not so far this week. I am so glad to hear that the Division is doing well and have gotten most of the flags. It will be interesting to get all of the facts when we see them and I'm sure we will drive them crazy asking all of the questions that have been building for weeks! I will be praying for each recruit tomorrow in case it is gas chamber and also for them as they face Battle Stations. I'm sure they will share stories from the next week for the rest of their lives! It will make graduation all that more meaningful. Go Ship 11 Div 212!
Hi Everyone,
One of my mistakes was sending Collin a recordable card that had some music on it. He said don't do it again. The RDC said that if were just music on it he would make them dance in front of everyone. My card just had me saying hi, that I missed him and I would see him soon and then it played WE ARE FAMILY. Live and learn. He said if the envelopes are too thick the RDCs check them. Goodnight ladies...
hey ladies,
i didn't get a letter or a call but my ex just let me know thru a text that george made marksman and they have gas chamber next week. that's all i learned but i'm just happy i learned something! and through all of your messages i feel like i really have a better feel of what's going on with our boys. so excitiing! ~abbe
Brenda & LINM~ I'm glad the dancing worked. And even more glad that the letters you received were full of good news.
Abbe~ I've been where you are and I understand how hard it is to hear other ladies talk about their letters or calls. But remember that your son is surrounded by good supportive people and his job right now is to focus on graduating and doing his very best. Just keep writing him and continuing to love him through letters.
Kelly~ I am going to have to take your family out to lunch or dinner one day while in GL. In Josh's last letter he mentions again how supportive and helpful Kelly has been. I owe him so much! I hope it's okay if I write him again.
All ladies~ I sent out the card from my kids today. I hope that Josh gives on to everyone and I hope that they like them. You don't think he'll get made fun of for them do you? I hope they realize how hard the little ones worked on them and love them as much as I know Josh will. I'm going to take a look at that group an see what those ladies are saying about their calls. OMG I can not wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I got a letter from Kelly yesterday. He said they let them all go to the NEX and buy a pop and a candy bar. He said everyone had stomach aches afterward! LOL He said it's really hot and humid and he's missing the cooler Colorado weather. He said almost everyone in the division is sick with something right now. He said they got paid last week but doesn't know how much because he hasn't seen a pay stub. He also mentioned that there was one particular group of guys that are pretty mouthy and don't appear to have any respect for authority and they are causing the division the majority of the problems. Other than that he said he really didn't have much to say. OMG I am missing him sooo much right now!!! Abbe I had to think of you because even though I got a letter he really didn't give me a lot of insight into what is going on there. I was hoping for some good details about what they have been working on and what is coming up next week. On a side note - this should give everyone a chuckle...I got my hair cut yesterday so it would be just right for graduation.....well....it looks like my 17 month old cut my bangs!!! And what do you do when your bangs are too short!!!??? Nothing!!! Thank goodness I'll have a couple weeks growth on them before we all meet - lol!
Kelly, I posted awhile back that they got paid on the 14th of may. We only know because it is direct deposit in our sons account and he gave us power of attorney to oversee his accounts. I am also assuming that they had the gas chamber today, Kyle's letter was written on the 23rd and he said it was schedules for next Friday, which i would think was today. I think BS 21 starts the end of next week into the beginning of the PIR week. Not every division goes all at once, may 2 div a night. I pray that this sickness goes away so as not to affect them in BS21. Kyle said he doesn't care about his cold he just wants to keep truckin right through to the end. I am more concerned about his feet. The boots are killing him and he won't do a thing about it, says he is going to suck it up till the end. But of course he said mom would fix his feet up when he sees us! By the way I am not laughing at the hair cut, I am doing the opposite. About 2 weeks ago went and got my hair cut and the stylist said lets leave it a little longer this time and like a nut I listened to her, guess who is going for some more to be chopped off on Tuesday!!! I think we could have bald spots on our foreheads but the boys wouldn't care, just so long as they get to see us. In one of the letters I wrote out a page of questions that I wanted answers to and told Kyle to mail it back to me, that was a big help. I did ask him what he would like to eat in chicago or where he would like to go and his reply was, I don't care about that I just want to see and be with you all. He has also become very appreciative and aware of what he has. (Not that he was complaining about BC He said they are being fed well and whatever necessities he needs they provide)I just think he realizes how good he had it home. That is one of many things we can thank BC for. I am rambling now but I just wish it were here already girls. Just imagine that huge garage door opening up in the hall on 6/11/10, and in walks Div. 212 all of them in the dress whites looking so proud and honorable, "OMG" I will have goosebumps as big as golf balls and crocodile tears that might flood the Grad Hall. Got to go for now, we are celebrating our 27th anniversary! and I am off the weekend! OOOOH-Rah!
