If you have a recruit in this division please let me know. I know that all of us who have someone graduating on 06/11 have to stick together. But it is so nice to know the family and friends of the men my husband is spending all of his time with. Also, I thought we could send letter or cards to each others recruits to add a little variety to their letters. Please let me know what you think!

I know my husband would be so thankful to know that I am getting so much support from his classmate's families. I look forward to talking to everyone on here and learing more. I can not wait until the meet and greet to be able to put a name with a face.

Good luck Navy Ship 11 Div 212!!!

Finally, finally got a letter. All is well and he said he'd call me after he passes BS, but would probably call his dad first since he hasn't talked with him yet. Sigh ... male bonding. blah! Anyway, I'm feeling upbeat and positive. ~Abbe
Abbe, Hooo-Rah I am glad you finally got a letter, a great weight has been lifted! Don't worry about the phone call thing, I think they actually get to make a few phone calls. I hope so because Kyle told us he was scheduled for another call and he hoped we wouldn't mind but he was going to call his girl. The only way I will mind is if she got the I'm a sailor call before us. I am going to be a Messssss on Wednesday waiting for the call (raging hormones anyway). Maria wrote that Nathan said BS is Tuesday for 212. I am just happy to hear you received a letter and you know that he did not dissappear of the face of the earth (i know that feeling). Have a great day! Bren
Thanks Bren. Yes, it's been a huge weight lift finally getting a letter. I feel like I can really focus on preparing to get to Chicago now instead of wondering if he's gonna make it. I'm so looking forward to the I'm a sailor call in the next few days!!!!
I am glad he got things checked out as well, but even more glad he's seemed to have snapped out of his funk. Reading his letter sounded like something my husband would have written. He made jokes and even seemed so up beat. We have such an open relationship that we telll each other everything...EVERYTHING. Some times people tell us we tell each other TOO MUCH!!! But in my last letter I asked about guys looking for girls in church cause I thought that was funny. And he made a funny joke about it and how the girls don't really give the guys the time of day due to the BCG. It's not that that is ph so funny, it's just that he's back to trying to be funny...lol. He said that the letter (the to the point letters) that my grandpa and I wrote really struck a cord and helped him wake up. And Kelly he once again mentioned your boy. I can not express how much it makes my heart feel happy to know that he has someone to confide in.
I decided not to take my older kids with me after all. My mother in law is going to fly the baby down for Thursday night till Saturday morning and going to keep him until I get home. I really think this will work out better. And they will be able to see him very soon in San Antonio.
I was thinking maybe a local Kareoke (spelling) bar or bowling. Bring your hubby, I'm sure there will be other dads going. He's part of our family too, you know. Kidding! But I just thought we could all go as a group and now I won't have to get a sitter for the babies. My mother in law was going to stay, but she said she wanted to give us alone time. She's so awesome, although i would like her company. Talk to you ladies soon. I hope we get our calls soon!!!!!!!!!!
Got a letter from Nathan today. Probably my last one! He talked about BS and said assuming he passed he would graduate 2 days later, so if he is right, I guess they have BS on Wed. with graduation being on Fri. He sounded really upbeat and said he could not wait to take a long shower. Jokingly, he said he would probably be lonely thought since he was used to taking one with 80 other guys! Ha! He talked about how busy they constantly are. There is always something to do. You can never get your sheets tight enough, your shoes shiny enough, etc. Guess next week at this time graduation will all be over! Hope everyone has a safe trip!
Hello Everyone!
Received a letter from Nathan! He says that Battle Stations is Tuesday the 8th. PSA 3 is the 4th today. They flagged their Drill so they got their Independent Steam, marching a lot but they march by themselves, because of it. They have also done live Fire and he did good. He sounds good, seems like the div. are coming together. I hope and pray they ALL do excellent in BS
Good Night all. Maria
Thank You Maria, I have not received anything from Kyle and the answer to Battlestations is wonderful. The only problem I will have is if the famous call comes when I am at work. (Policy is no cell phones at work) I told my boss already, this is the most important call I will be getting and if the Big Guys have a problem with it then I guess you can fire me. She told me if I feel it ring just duck into an area where you won't be seen by anyone. I will be so excited I don't know if I will be able to think straight. Maybe today I will get a letter. I'm sure we won't get any phone calls now that BS is right around the corner. I think I am going to light a candle every night after supper for the divisions going through BS. That way I at least will feel like I am helping them all along. Again thank you for such neeeeeeded info. Prayers,Strength,Confidence, and Unity to Division 212!!! Bren
Good morning girls - I got a letter yesteday too. Kelly didn't make any mention of BS in this letter but said that he did well on his 2nd PFA, that hell week was in his words "a cake walk" and that he received a ribbon during live fire. He's pretty anxious to have this all done with. Destinyne I think I know where Josh's 12 pounds went - Kelly said he gained 12 pounds! I'm so anxious to see what he looks like! He said he is pretty disappointed we're not bringing his youngest brother but he had said the more he thought about it the more he understands my reasoning. He said he's so afraid Mark's not going to remember who he is. That breaks my heart but it'll be okay. Even if Kel was still home Mark wouldn't have any memories of this time anyway. Well I'm off to a busy Saturday. Today is our towns BBQ days and the little one is in the parade. My dad is known around town for his John Deere tractors and Mark and his cousin Ella are going to be pulled in a wagon behind one of the tractors with a sign that says "Dave's Deeres". Sweet huh? We're headed off now to have breakfast at the fire station before we have to line up for the parade. Should be a busy day for the little one! I hope you all have a great day and can get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!
Kelly that sounds like a wonderful Saturday to me! Hope we get to see some pictures of the little ones in the parade. I love BBQ's and my husband dabbles in smoking alot of different things from pork shoulders, beef jerky, trout and Turkey. You should have a fun time today! Next week is going to be a nerve filled couple of days but hopefully we will all be celebrating together Thursday night! Have alot to do today, talk later, Bren
Hey Ladies, Got a letter today Hoooo-rah! He wrote on Monday-holiday. The schedule he wrote down was
6/1 Firefighting 1
6/2 Gas Chamber (said he was Psyched for it?)
6/3 Firefighting 2 & PI/DMI (inspections)
6/4 Final PFA
6/8 -6/9 - Test 3 & Battle Stations
Co's Navy Ball Cap Ceremony
PHONE CALL
He is ready for all and to move on to the next phase of Navy Life. It was great just to read how anxious he is to do all of the test and finally get to see all of us! Got to get back to my duties here at home! TTYL Bren
Thanks for the info Bren. That pretty much answered everything. Do you think if we continue to write, they'll even get the letters?
Cindy, If you write one today I don't even think they will be awake enough to read them. My husband works for the Post Office here in PA and if Kyle mailed his letter last Monday 31st, I just got it Saturday the 5th, I really don't think they will get it. Besides you should get a phone call from him after they do BS and you will get to talk to him a little longer. I have a notepad with me and every time I think of a question I write it down to ask him when he calls. When I go out of the house I take the notes with me and my cell phone. At this point the Navy is so unpredictable and I'm going to make sure I'm prepared. (they don't know I was a Girl Scout) Ha-Ha. I also know when we get that infamous phone call we will be so excited and proud we will need notes to look at because the questions will fly right out of our heads. I'm glad that helped, that's what we are all here for! Lets say some prayer for our guys! TTYL Bren
