I tried to send a message a minute ago, but I don't think it worked.  Does anyone have a child on Ship 11, Division 211?  Our son is there and we don't know much and I just found this group!  We did get a call the 3rd week for about 10 minutes, but he says in his letters that he is not getting any mail and we are sending letters everyday.  Does anyone know if we will get another call and if so, when it might be?  Or when they are doing Battlestations?

Thanks!

Stephanie

I won't be at the PIR and my brother and my father are going but don't own a camcorder. If any of you own one would you be able to post it on youtube for us mother's that can't make it. I did not realize that there is plenty of family that can't make it so this would be a nice gesture from you. Thank you god bless our young men and women. Lets keep them in our prayers tonight till tomorrow morning....
Hi everyone. We got a letter today that said it would be our last letter. It said he would be able to have one more phone call (in addition to the one we got week 3) and that it would be on Thursday after Battlestations, so I'm assuming Battlestations is on Wednesday night? (Annie, I know your son said Battlestations was going to be on Tuesday) Does anyone have any more recent information? Will also said that he probably wouldn't call us on Thursday because "it would be pointless since I'll see you on Friday"...........argh! He's pretty independent, so I'll just chalk it up to that. At least we HAVE gotten several letters, which isn't like him, so that's good.
I hope it was last night since I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for a call. Plus they will be so tired on Friday if BS is Thursday. Who knows, the days probably run into one another for them! Plus, things could change at a moment's notice I suppose. I know my last letter to him while he is in boot camp was sent over the weekend - encouraging words for Battle Station! I watched some videos on youtube last night of graduation and I cried and cried - I just want to see his face. The closer to the day, the more anxious I get. About ready to burst out of my skin!! If I get a phone call, I will post! Good Luck to All!
Hello!!
Sjr23 No, I can't go to the meet and greet, because i will arrive chicago thursday at 8:30pm but, i hope to see everybody happy on friday. Just two more days!!!!! My last letter was on monday and it said the BS was yesterday night. I'm waiting to hear his voice.
I got a five minute call, BS is already completed. Yes, i'm so excited.
I got my call as well! He was so tired and hoarse! I am as excited as everyone else is!!
we got the call, also, so my information was wrong, but so much the better to have heard today! He was obviously tired, but also in very good spirits and excited for PIR - thanks to you guys on this site, I knew to ask him things like where he'd be in the division, since there are so many graduating. we are in lafayette, in, tonight and pick our other son up at the airport in the morning...18 month old is probably in the best spirits of us all...travel food (junk stuff), mom and dad's attn non stop, stay up past bedtime.. and if anything bothers me, just cry a bit! It was so good to hear Will's voice and know when his A School starts. We are very definitely proud parents. He told us he ordered the $174 pic package for us and had bought division shirts already, too. He even offered to take us to the NEX to buy picture frames - and this is all from the guy who refused to have senior pics made in high school. I'm so excited!! and super excited for him and his dad!
Patti, thanks for the compliment on Claire. She is a good kid. It was wonderful to meet you and Chris as well as Stephanie. I look forward to sharing the moments with you tomorrow and also meeting Kirby. Bring plenty of tissues!! Sleep well too!! Annie
That is so cool. This blog is so great I am so excited that y'all hooked up. Now, at least maybe I can connect the dots since David and I have not been able to hook up. Each time he called I forgot to take my phone. We definately should keep in touch. I will friend you. Are you on facebook too? I recieved David's navy grad pictures today. This makes me feel a little better that I was not able to be there. He looks so handsome in his navy blues and whites.
Wow is all I can say. The ceremony was nice and the sailors look so good. Patti and Annie - it was really nice to meet you all and Patti, to get to meet your son as well. Annie - I'm sorry we didn't connect to have the sons meet since they will be in A school together. Will confirmed that he does 'go over' to A school on Tuesday, also. He's pretty pysched about it and that is so nice to see! I had to laugh because he said he really doesn't know first names and I said we don't really know last names. Terelack, I wonder if we passed by you and didn't know who you were? Same thing for you, Hele?
Patty have you looked yet if there is a group for sub school in Connecticut?
I just have a question if anyone knows. Can parents go to the Nex with their sailor? I heard also that it doesn't have to be the navy store it can be any military base. Does anyone know if this is true?
