For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Aloha, My son just left on Memorial Day from Maui to Oahu! Meps yesterday morning, then left yesterday afternoon for GreatLakes. His Flight left at 4pm and arrived at 5 am Chicago time! Does anyone know the process once he gets to Chicago, about calling home! Mahalo, Jade

My son left on Memorial Day, too. He arrived at bc on June 1. I got the call that night about 11. It was less than a minute, but it was nice to hear his voice. I don't know much about the process yet as I am new, too. I spent most of Memorial day weekend crying, but I am a little better now. I hope you are doing ok. I haven't received the box yet or the address, but I have been writing letters to send when the address comes. Jane

I just dropped my son off at the hotel where he will spend the night and then leave on flight for Chicago tomorrow.
Recruiter told us to expect phone call about 1-2 hours after landing.

My son left on June 3rd from Jacksonville,Fl. I feel like there is a hole in my heart. It is so strange that I cannot pick up the phone or texted him anytime I want. It will be so great when we get his first letter. I know it will be three weeks before we can talk to him again. We miss him so much.

I know what you mean. It is really hard. My son arrived at bc on June 1st and called late that night. It was good to hear his voice. I was proud of myself as I didn't cry. He did text me three times from the airports as he was on his way to bc. He was afraid to call me, I think, since everytime I spoke with him Memorial Day weekend, I would cry. Texting was safer, I guess. I can't wait for that first letter either. I am doing better than I was but this week is his 22nd birthday. I know that day will be hard for him as well as for me. Hello Ladies, My son left june 3, landed in chicago the next day. As like you Jane, my eyes hurt from crying. On Friday as he waited for the MEPS stuff, he text me alot, and sent pictures of himself. It did keep me a little at ease, so long as I did not talk to him on the phone. He sent me pictures as he was on the bus to the airport and the last on was on the plane before take off. He landed in Chicago time of 9 pm, and his last call was about 10:30. I was finally happy for him, and for the first time he sounded so sad, maybe he was just tired.....

Hi, my son left the same day (June 3rd) from Boston. He is Ship 10 / Division 258. Got my box yesterday which was sad, but I did make some money when I did his laundry.. he left money in his shorts! Can't wait to
hear from him!

Hi! My son left today for GL and I haven't received his call telling me he made it yet but I know the call will come. It helps me so much knowing he is so excited and wants to excel in everything he is taught. Just waiting for that first call is very tense.

Hang in there, Lisa. I hope you get your call soon. Our recruiter said that when they get to the airport, they sometimes have to wait for the bus to take them to bootcamp. If there are a lot of people coming in at once, they all don't fit on the same bus. The call will be very short and scripted, but its great to hear their voice. I got my call around 11 pm on June 1st. His flight arrived at O'Hare about 7:30 so it took 3 1/2 hours after landing to get the call. I don't know if this helps but that was my experience. Take care.

Thank you Jane! He did finally call me around 11 pm last night and I was so glad to hear from him. He also sounded tired. I am feeling a little weird today and I'm sure I will for the next few weeks until I hear from him again. I worry about the things he is going through and wonder what he is thinking. I know he is fine and I know he is a leader but worry will always be at the back of my mind. I'm very proud of him and I know he will make a great Medic.

My son just flew out today for boot camp and wow the last few days have been miserable, crying all the time and just miss having him here!!! Such a wierd feeling
